Sorry Glipe, I didn't mean to be petty. It's just that there are significant differences between the US and most European nations in laws on free speech and slander. I just didn't want the wrong impression given of US laws. Another, tiny correction, in the US, I believe that you don't get prosecuted for defamation. An accusation of defamation is a civil complaint where someone can bring a lawsuit against you. Assault and battery, such as punching someone in the face, on the other hand, is a criminal matter.

No, while it was a matter of unfortunate timing a suspension was not put in place for any emails.

If DT doesn't know why he was banned, then you do not know why he was banned. Hence this petition is pointless and baseless.

You are asking for people to sign a Petition to get someone unbanned, but you have no idea why he was banned?? why on earth would be sign then?

You just outlined my entire argument nicely. I ask people to sign this, because DT doesn't even know why he was banned. Why would someone be banned and not know why they were banned? If you ask me (yes, I know, my opinion is worthless), if you get banned or suspended, you should know exactly why at the time of the ban.suspension.

It's a contentious issue at the moment in America. They are currently working under two heading; libel and criminal libel. The former needs a case to be brought against it but the latter is actually illegal (burden of proof or "actual malice" lies with the prosecutor). Some states believe the criminal libel issue goes against the 1st but it's still being upheld in most states since the 1964 Supreme Court ruling (New York Times vs Sullivan).

I'm not signing anything unless doubletap really does need help. Though he has made his posts on twazz.net he repeatedly says that he is not asking for help, so let him be until he changes his mind, maybe the situation will clear up in due course, i seriously doubt doubletap does anything on the forums but offer assistance and advice... which dont benefit him at all
