Would've played on ATS...
See, now tonight's login woes on Windemeer is a prime example why Nevrax should open the ATS to all customers... Here I am, a Windemeer customer who cant login for some reason and I WOULD HAVE made an ATS character and logged in to that server to get a Ryzom fix, but I can't.... why? Cause I didnt ...

Re: under the thumb
I also have to agree with the general sentiment that 'today's gamer" has a much shorter attention span than when the first MMOGs (or should I say MMORPGs, almost a dead abbreviation) released. Remember the days in Everquest when the OOC chat was simply filled with awe of how cool EQ was? People in ...

Re: Mail system
Thanks Gralen, glad you found that post. But, would still be nice to have a notification... whats the point of putting a system like this in game and not code notification? I say they should code the notification and also code a way to turn notification off (for those that don't like getting ...

Mail system
Please put a visual queueing system in game to notify a PC they have received mail... currently, a person could play for months, racking up mail all day long, and not realize he has any unless he actually went to the mail screen.

Re: Shield Questions
As far as I can see, the whole point of carrying a shield is for the "Shielding" skill in the melee tree. The size of the shield determines the amount of damage it will soak while the skill is active. The mat quality is intruiging ... but I am really not too worried about the shield protection ...

Re: Anyone Else Finding Healing Inadequate?
Thanks for the replies all. I knew about he malus associated to armor but I thought it only had to do with SAP costs; I didnt realize it would affect my cast time as well. I also didnt realize that the differing kinds of amber affected spells so drastically. Thanks for the help! PS - I'm keeping the ...

Anyone Else Finding Healing Inadequate?
I am stylizing my build after a Cleric (D&D style), wearing Medium armor and carrying a Mace/shield combo. He's basically a pinch healer/fighter going heavy Taunt/Shielding/HPs to take aggro from the main tank should they get in trouble. I'm currently 15 or so skill in Magic and have all the heal ...

Are Starter Packs in Skill Reset Equation?
Hi All, This question came up in chat tonight... for the skill resets, will our starter packs be taken into account? Ex: Magic 3: Root/Fear/Acid and Heal ... thats at least 80 sp Melee 3: Damage inc/Shielding/Taunt/Accuracy ... thats 40 sp Depending on the starter packs you made your character with ...

Re: Windermeer peak population
Agreed on the Zorai masks... If anything, I think they are the most distinctive PCs going. The chances of running into a Zorai with a mask with the identical setup to yours is almost nill. They are so distinctive in a group of 8 you could easily recognize people by memory if you turned names off ...
