Heads up: Kitin Lair

Post by iphdrunk »

Nevrax listened to our pledge about updates of the roadmap :)

http://www.ryzom.com/development/in-dev ... tins-lair/

This is a much welcomed addition, both in terms of gameplay and lore :) although I can already hear Jy crying out loud about the instanced quests and the dungeon-like additions :P [EDIT: it will not be instanced (yay!), the dungeon feeling is a must imho for a kitin lair and echoing the concerns of other players, issues may remain with the farmed uberloot :) ]

Organizing team and guild raids agains the kitin sounds a pretty cool idea, maybe it will indeed be hard enough so a small team of 2-3 players cannot cope with it and requires a well organized effort :) this reminds me of the firsts homin raids against kitin nests, suffering wave after wave of kitin, adding up DP and trying the most fun and imaginative pull-techniques (" you stay here, I pull, the you fear, you die, respawn, ..." aaak, dropped"

Comments? :)

Ok, I shall avoid saying "told you so". As i said in the other thread, lets give them a chance to deliver the much needed content one by one :)

However it is odd that they do wake up only when it gets restless around here... *sigh*

Good work nevrax, we hope to see it soon.

Lol :) I shall avoid the "it still remains a vague hint much in the line of other announcements, without details" as much as you avoid the "I told you so" ;) although let me point out that the other thread was not a claim "they are doing nothing" but a "We would like to know what you are doing" and (see below)...

However it is odd that they do wake up only when it gets restless around here... *sigh*
... this is precisely why we raise the concerns. And I am happy and grateful to Nevrax for listening.

Agreed! :) better soon than Soon(TM)

Looks like a well thought out content addition, some new missions a new challenge and abit of new area are all good things.

Dont have a problem with consumables but item rewards worry me a little bit, if they are too uber it could promote farming and nerf crafters.

Yay!

Superb, That's what we all have been wayting for :)

Now dearest devs just bring Sirgio and Pei back and make me a happy man! :)

Would be much more intertesting to have a chitin armor or a special weapon or something as a reward :)

Kitin lair raids make a bit more sense than many normal raids. Nests will occur and keep occuring after all.

It'll depend on the wording of the missions I think whether this is yuck or yay.

I concur with the concern over item rewards.

Agreed and agreed again. Why the hell would kitins be carrying jewelry? Frahar/cutes/gibbai make sense because they might have a tendency to steal/collect shiny things. So unless the jewelry is found on the ground (one would assume it was lost by previous homins who met with an unfortunate fate), it wouldn't make sense. Please don't have us looting anything off animals or kitins that they wouldn't have a logical reason for having on them!
I can already hear Jy crying out loud about the instanced quests and the dungeon-like additions
I didn't see anything in the article that suggested the nest is instanced, though. Not any more than the kitins respawning, that is. And that will make as much sense IC as it does already - animals and kitins have nanoseeds too...

In any case, thank you Nevrax. :) More kitins to beat up!

I think the jewels etc are mission rewards (i.e the missions they mentioned that will be availible there) so you will be probably getting them off your quest giver

tbh I hope these jewels are grind quality crap, just so the game doesnt become dominated by those who have run the nest 50000000000 times to get a full set

btw I think it will be instanced, otherwise they could have created a nice mission to say desert stock (hope I got the right kitin nest there) and just give rewards for that
