Anyway, I happen to be pretty lazy when it comes to foraging. I don't want to use careplans etc although I know I'm doing myself out of some XP and mats that way (just hit forest forage 128 today).

I use all gentle stanzas and terrain spec on both prospect and extraction. I get 7 mats per source of whatever quality I'm digging, and I never have to do anything. I can just hit the action and carry on chatting or checking my inventory or the hundred other strange things I feel I need to do

I have tried things like team foraging using all aggressive actions with someone else applying care plans, in which case I get 11 mats per source or 15 if I use a focus self heal halfway through.

My best advice is to open a new hands bar and throw together some actions and see what happens. Generally you'll find a method that suits your play style and how much risk you want to take. Oh, and make sure you keep a self heal HP action on your foraging hands bar, in case of unexpected blow ups...

That's what I like about this game - the fact I can play it the way I want to, not the way the game tells me to

harmfull extraction with rate 1.0 is the upgrade for the rate skill to forage you have speed, rate and extraction quality. speed determins how fast you dig, rate determins the rate that you extract the materials giving you more quantity with the higher rate skills and extraction quality raises your maximum quality you can dig to

It helps but i think i nead more stanzas cos its not a good skill compaird to harmfull extraction. I have bothe and i wos wondering if i scruwd up my char by taking them both. Just hopet i could get past the 2x q30 (800xp) basic amber in de dryon harvesting spots

you need to buy quite a lot of stanza's for harvesting to get it to a lvl where its easy to lvl bit hard for people starting out since patch 1 as the sp usage for harvesting went up alot then

prospection skills are just as important as extraction skills too as they find sources with a longer extrction time and better class of materials

the stanza i use is something like 3 rescource spots 20m range 60 degree angle up to choice materials in town or up to supreme in prime roots with knowledge 1 and desert prospection specialisation and rescource time +15 seconds

my extraction stanza is gentle speed and rate 3 with gentle extraction 130 desert extraction specialisation with material specialisation

like this you can pull 10-11 mats with a careplanner aslong as you have decent focus

Let's ignore spam and try get u some info as I understood them.

I have been digging for long with same formula as Neun G3/A4/Gq100+..
After q150 isnt really applicable.
There are many formula which work but all the xp does I think depend on one brick:
Couterpart is the key!!
Linked to the G/A/G formula and taking into account ur personal focus.
No magic formula as it actually depend of which stanzas and focus u have.
Example:
A /
-with a G3/A4/Q100+ i used to pull up to 12 mats, with maybe 2k to 2.3k...
Using I think -102 brick (might have be -82..)
-With same counterpart and lot more speed (had to reduce rate then) I pull my up to 12 mats and still have lot of time left of sources BUT i run out of focus.....
So best will be highest ever G speed and Arate but if u do that u will run out of focus very fast and will get same amount of mats....

-With higher quantities (Q150+), using gentle Qual cost more focus and I had to reduce a bit speed n rate: G3/R3/Q150+ with -102 brick...
-The -148 brick was too heavy in focus for me with 2.4k focus and still had my up to 12 Q170 mats with lot of time left....
So basically a lot of levels gained pulling up to 12 from Q100 to Q170.

Other formula than G/A/G (like G/G/A) have very damaging effects on sources life or danger

The source mode is different and your actions/formulas have lil effect on it.
Modes 1 and 4 are pretty safe, the other have to be watched carefully...

AS far as I noticed, even keeping same formula, behaviour of sources on same mode aren't always the same...
So all is in which counterpart u can use better according to your focus...
And after, which bricks u use to build ur extraction.

Rate 1.0 then 1.X... are just upgrade: G1/G2/G3....rate..

Source time is the other key: more time = more focus needed or reduction of speed use to get ur maxi and end of source time and not in middle as u have to wait till source is finished or u loose focus..

Yesterday when i came home from work i turnd on te comp to see what level in forage i had to show you guys what level i have. I have level 28 so i gues i'm to low level to get the "big xp". The od thing is when i prospect a spot 4 a high level forager (180+) m8 he gives me 2500 xp!!! This is somting i dont understand. There must be a way to get that high xp rate like when you kill a puny "carnivore dog" when you get level 20 melee. It just neads some more testing

4 the moment i d'ont have care plans cos a forager friend told me to boost my focus and i invested 40 sp in A extract 1.0 and G extract 1.0. Just need to get 60 sp 4 care plans to get big xp's.

It took a while but now i'm finely staring to understand the G/A/Q rates. The thing is noboddy has actualy toght of explaining the stanzas with amounts pro's and cons. Same gows for melee, range and magic. Its actualy not simpel 4 a noob to finde a way trough all the skils. Sertenly not when you ar afrayd of gimping yor char to a level where you need to make a new one.

Team harvesting is really good when pairing a Lower level harvest with a higher level extractor.

Key factor is ql pull and number of mats.

If you prospected a source and the high level harvester then pull high ql and mats ... this is then used as the basis of you xp calc.

eg lvl 40 harvest get huge xp if another harvester then pulls ql140x12 out of the spot.

Carering is the same but seems to be capped at 1511xp! and you must be teamed.

Note the slight downside ... the extractors XP is reduced.

Example

lvl 60 harvester prospects a source, unteamed, I extract 9xql140 @ lvl 132 lake.

They get 2-2.5k XP for prospect.
I get 1k for the extraction.

I have found with caring ...

same levels
I prospect and extract, but the lvl60 cares while I extract, we are teamed.
I get the same 1k
They get 1511k for the caring.

I have not yet tried the following:
Not teamed low level prospects.
I extract, while a different lower lvl teamed harvester cares.

Might try this one later... would be interesting.

I have experimented with 1 extractor + 2 x carer - xp is split between the carers, so its not really a worth while exercise. (Unless your 2 carer have different care plan types).
