The Prime Roots border regions between different races and tribes with differing allegiances. With faction rivalry becoming ever more present as the game progresses, these borderlands are to become more contested. It doesn't mean materials won't be accessible, and with a current lack of any incentive/rewards for player vs player combat I seriously doubt you will find people heading to roots just to pk unsuspecting foragers.
So... when the changes come into play... and I find myself in need of some prime root materials for crafting... I'll teleport down there like normal. Then I'll type "/who" to see who else is in the region. If there's alot of people I'm unfamiliar with then I'll probably wait until it's a bit quieter to go foraging. I'll pack my blade and armour when I go foraging just incase there's a wise-guy looking for a piece o' the Fuzz. Some days when plenty of friends are foraging we'll most likely form groups to watch eachothers backs should the need arise.
PvP In the Prime Roots won't change things down there much for now. There aren't that many people going down there to hunt, the risk of being hunted by the Kitin Patrols seems deterrent enough for now. Not many people who can access the Prime Roots easily at this time care to go there unless they have to anyways, unless they are escorting guildmates or friends to new areas, new spawn points, giving friends/guildies a tour of where to find whichever materials they seek to forage.
I think even after faction based PVP is implemented and permitted in the Prime Roots we will still find these regions as sparsely populated with the few lonely hardworking foragers we normally find there.
I for one will not be seeking to pk any other foragers in the prime roots just for the hell of it. Whether the other foragers be of Kami, Karavan or neutral alignment, at this point in the game it is non-consequential, and there is no cause for conflict.
Ofcourse with all that said, with pvp enabled in these regions I would still expect the occasional random player to try their luck pk'ing foragers in the Prime Roots. I wish them luck, they'll need it.
