Maybe one of the reasons you and I aren't seeing eye to eye on this one, raynes, is becuase I take the invitation to have a different meaning than you do:
Mynias the Watcher, defender of the lands, and protector of all people, has called upon all guild leaders to attend a summit in Pyr this Sunday. It is of utmost importance that all who can attend do. Discussions will include cooperation between the races, as well as a warning system for kitin attacks. The meeting will take place at 6 o'clock EST, in Agora Hall in Western Pyr. All are welcome to attend, but guild leaders and representatives are urged to come. There will be a reception following the meeting, where eager Homins may look for a guild, and guilds may look for these Homins.

-On Behalf of Mynias the Watcher
This does not mean that everyone--hands-down everyone on Atys--should be able to attend, which seems to be your interpretation. It does say that all are invited, but nowhere does it make any statement about how practical that should be. Furthermore, the invitation seems to imply that not all guild leaders and citizens will be able to attend, for whatever reason.
So if you have a meeting where you say it's important for everyone to attend, then put it in a place where many can not attend there is a problem there.
Not at all. Saying people should attend is not the same as saying the people are guaranteed a chance to attend, which seems to be the way you think things should be.
This is a roleplay issue becuase you are introducing and important event that will effect the future of my characters life, one where it is important for him to be a part of. Yet it's being setup by default that he nor a representive of him is able to attend.
What I'm hearing, basically, is that you really want to be there, and are upset because you don't think you'll be able to make it. I think, though, that if you talked to people in-game and made an effort to find a large group that is planning on making the journey, you may be able to make it. I hope you try, and good luck if you do!

"ll are welcome to attend, but guild leaders and representatives are urged to come"

That statement says it all. Currently it is next to impossible for the guild I belong to or any of its member to make the trip. Three of them tried last night for at least 4 hours failing over and over and over. What makes things worse is the complete lack of planning and effort on the part of the events staff to make this event accessable to the intended parties. How hard would it be for them to ask the devs to patch in guards along the route for that short period of time? Or how hard would it be for them to move the mobs for a few short hours?

I'm sorry but the idea of having an event that is suppose to be attended by all guilds and all races in a place that is only reachable using large groups is just poor event design by the evetns team. Much in the same way putting a npc who was kidnapped unguarded in the middle of the wilderness was poor design. They want events to be a success and they want large player participation, then they need to stop doing things half assed and instead think them through. There is no reason or excuse for this.

With multiple over-lapping hordes of patroling kitin that aggro from well outside of visual range, 'guard' kitin that give you a 10 second window to get by them after a half hour wait at the entrance to the roots, it's impossible to get from the jungle to the desert.

No matter what size force you have, it's not going to make it, you can' single-pull the patrols, the patrols walk through the 'protected' outpost areas where one is supposed to be safe (Now, how exactly are guilds EVER supposed to be able to take and hold those? Hmmm?).

After 9 hours of purely trying to run the roots, never making it more than halfway across underspring, and not making it to the bottleneck in the Trench of Trials, I finally, FINALLY made it to BB. Note, that was onyl because the invulerability lasted *just* long enough for me to get the respawn point for that entrance, I didn't actually make it to there until I spawned there and walked through. At which point being faced with hordes of cutes (whoever named them needs to be shot by the way), Vorax, other things with big teeth I can't remember names of, and again, masses of Kitin that aggro from over 100M away, outside of visual range.

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to keep trying, DP is maxed, so nothing to loose (of course, after spending 9 hours in the game I got absolutely 0 accomplished, and that's just silly, and likely I'll not make any progress the entire week and still get nothing accomplished).

The problem, is that the theory behind the meeting is stupid. It's a meeting to work out the commmon defence against kitin invasions. That's a terrific plan. IF people could get there to defend. But since it's impossible to get to other places unless you were one of those lucky enough to have done it before the patrols, then you can't get to an area to help defend. Which means that all but those lucky few will be porting around from invasion to invasion, event to event, while the majority of us feel left out and/or useless.

And new players don't even have a hope.

If tickets were tradable then it might be a different story, but that's not likely to happen either. I wouldnt' mind the roots being difficult, but as it is right now, it's impossible. As for getting a large enough group, asside from the multiple overlapping patrols, there are not enough Zoraï or those capable of getting to Zora to put together such a group.

Invis spell, cloaking power, non-aggro power, feign death ability.... *something* to make it possible, that's all I'm asking for, I don't think it's much.

You forgot the masses of Huge Trobaks. I knew I should of waited longer... I really wanted to get your reaction when you first saw what was on the otherside. I've had that spawn point for a long time now and have yet to make it anywhere, not for a lack of trying either.

LOL, 4 hours is all? Funny how hypocritical you are when talking about how long one has to try fighting and then when events don't go your way. Maybe I should respond like you with where is the data that proves you can't make it? that I can prove someone can make it across? Raynes endless blabbing about trying to get things just his way, this event is very poorly done if it is intended to be an inter-civilization event.

Oh lets just cut to the real reason why you and so many have managed to make it. You got the spawn points and were able to explore the roots before the devs made the changes to make it next to impossible. It's not just me how tried either. One of my guildmates spent 9 hours going from one side of the roots to the other. She hasn't even attempted the Bounty Beaches area. 9 hours to go 1km is not reasonable.

actually its very reasonable, now 100M agro range is unreasonable
most other games make it so that for you to go that far you have to find 'safe' spots to camp at and do multi day hikes

i know one game where 1 zone takes 4 days, that is a 6 hour a day fight, with maybe 20 minutes rest between fights to recooperate

realistically speaking they should make each area atleast a 3 day journey, in distance, not just in toughness

but thats more content related

It would be different if these were 'optional' zones, things that you went to because you wanted to go do them, but when they are the only traveling route between the major areas, then it isn't reasonable. That's the main problem. To participate in things, you have to move through areas that are impossible to move through.
