Looking at French forums on a thread giving suggestions on "new" Aen and co armors possibilities (main topic is why not having the same kind of armor also for mages so more bosses with different armors)

Toujours la meme idea = always the same idea :)

Thread went away of main topic (slightly) as most do and ended up on players mastering more than one branch of the same skill (toujours la meme idea; told ya)

Mixing both you end up with:
Special mission opened only to player having all branches of the same skill mastered; this special mission opens possibility of going to kill that specific boss that drop craft plans or whatever could be appealing..

Now you may say I come and spam forums as no one has been seen me in game for some time or very randomly only; true..
I have not seen it all for sure but as the player base decrease; the "end bosses" are been impossible to kill and as I trying to find good challenges and cant find anyone; then I go look somewhere else cos grinding for grinding is boring whatever game you play...

Last 5 times I stopped play for a while were result of one thing only (I am a solo guilded neutral player with quite a big friend list): every single time I asked players from all guilds and all faction to come to have different fun to kill one boss; answer was: not rewarding enough; too much time for low return on investment.... Too busy camping mobs bosses as we do everyday....

When is the last time Pei died on Ari?
Make it maybe more easy to kill so that it doesnt need 5 teams to go throught it but could be better to have some requirements to be able to kill it....

Lastly: the team that get the first hit on whatever is part of the group: tower; defenders... is the team that can loot: would avoid potential KSing issues :)

atm npc bosses just need fire power would be nice to see some tatics involed in killing them
about the new armors just before server`s was closed people was using gm`s skills and spawning npc light armor`s and npc MA in game so they are in the system just need to be put into game somewhere along the line

Better would be that they create some event or mission or objectives in order to get them: mastering 2 or 4 magic to open mission could be a good idea..

Why I think is a good idea is that somehow I could re-create the challenge: channel objectives of players = common objectif = competition = more activity :)

If the mage armur are only available to players with 4 mage trees then all oldies with 2 or 3 mage trees would be looking for team to level the tree missing so more teaming request ONLY to be able to get the mission requirement; then more teaming request to help killing the said boss :)

So players would store their picks in packers and go back teaming....

lemme think ...hm... prolly a few weeks ago pei and the others Died on Arispotle...5 teams??? oh dear ..u dun need 5 teams for it.....ya just need peeps who knows what is to do .. :D

NPC Bosses dun need only Firepower...with ONLY Firepower u woudnt kill em ... ya need both ... Firepower and tactic... and you know that Som ..u know what GoJ has worked out for killing NPC Bosses....and all i can say is that with tactic NPC Bosses are still easy and fast to kill

Last 5 times I asked experienced ppl; I received the answer in posted in previous post...

There has been a spoiler for NPC LA and MA on Ballisticmstix site for ages. If they were implemented I might actually be motivated to join NPC boss hunts. As it is (GoJ's tactics aside about which I have no clue) they are long, boring and irrelevent to someone like myself who rarely if ever wears HA.

I like Gil's idea tho :)

Isn´t that a bit of "server-centric-thinking"? ;)
I mean, why do you demand/want something changed that would affect all servers, when it does seem to work quite well on two out of three servers?

Sorry to rain on your parade a bit here Gilest, but all Bandit-Bosses are killed on a semi-regular basis on Leanon. Sometimes it´s a bit tricky, but most of the time we do find enough people to help and most importantly, people who WANT to help. Most of the time we do manage to kill all four Bandits. Only Lixi sometimes escapes ;)

As for Aniro, from your initial post I gather that they too do seem to get them down, only that its getting boring.

I´m sorry to say so but, making them easier on all Servers, just because to you Arispotle players do not seem to be able to put up enough interest and can not get around to organize a way for everyone to benefit from hunting the bosses, is not the way it should work. *(footnote)

As we can see from the replies there do seem to be some players who don´t have any problems besting the bosses.
Which just goes to show that, the bosses already are relatively easy to kill. So simply making them even more easy would be beside the point here.

Not even "making them harder to kill" would be quite right.

Changing the "way they have to be killed" is right. Yes, I fully agree with that.

A better, new and interesting way to keep them challenging for longer could be, to give them a pool of "solutions" that would have to be found and fulfilled to get them done and then possibly "switch" between these randomly.
While keeping the "easiness/hardness" of the challenge at the same level.

So that, for example, one day Aen would go down only when all illusions are killed, and on another day she´d have to be pulled to a particular spot near her den and killed there, or she´d be only vulnerable to say ice-spells, or whatever ;)

Same goes for the others.
Once players find the solution to a boss' challenge and have come to settle into a routine, switch the demands around.
Make them unpredictable to an extend. Routine is what kills fun and interest.
Prevent the players from gaining that routine and settling into it.

Just like its been said on Aniro and what you quoted.

Same old, same old... where´s the fun in that?

And I agree too that some "special" contend for multi masters would surely be a motivation (for some time at least) and would be nice to have. As long as it´s not allowed to become "routine" again. ;)

Routine is the main problem in all MMOs out there.
Even the Lich-King has already become "routine" for some players over there and they´re already complaining about how boring the new contend is, while others did only scratch at its surface. Keeping up with these demands is the one true challenge a Developer faces in my opinion.
Its a Sisyphos-Task to keep gamers satisfied and interested.

1. Any who feel offended by this should read the initial post again and then think about when was the last time they helped someone to kill the bosses just to help and not to gain any benefit from it.
If the answer is: "Yes I did and fell good about it." Then you´ve got nothing to be offended about.

2. On Leanon players managed to find a way to distribute the loot quite fairly amongst those who help. Although there are several groups that do hunt the bosses, someone came up with a time-schedule, based on their spawn times, that folks could agree on and now work with quite well.
I must admit, I´m amazed by how well this works.)
