Raging Torbaks

Post by ixils »

OK.. these guys can instantly take out an entire group. Am I missing something here? Not only do they kill but we are permanently dead?

I have read some of the other complaints about the game and I, for the most part, can put that down to sour grapes.

And perhaps it is me that is missing the point here.

But these creatures are just way too overpowered.

After the patch they will be able to kill an entire region I guess... safely from their patch in Heritics Hovel.

I guess it will come to good tactics then Atanna...
A bit like with the exploit with blinding, but then real teamwork...

Thats something else. People killed from Damage over Time spells (which the torbaks have) cannot be resurrected currently due to a bug.

Raging torbaks are officially level 158.

They hit you about 100 to 400 hp-damage, and have lots of HP (something like 8000)

but they are easy to handle. It's like a gingo :)

Trouble is that some groups uses all their stamina and sap just to kill one.
Don't worry about that, just avoid them.

Kind of hard to have tactics when one moment you are just standing there... the next they spawn... and the third you are dead.

Dead before you can even cast anything.

Obviously people are talking about the carnivores here, not just torbaks, in Hidden Source area, and their stench "attacks".

All the same, torbak or cuttler, the damage over time isn't that bad and there's an invention out there called bomb heals and mostly a group gets killed because they realise that stench damage too late (or the whole group is lowbie in levels). The thing is, it's up to the tanks to bind those carnivores as if the carnivore in question attacks someone with relatively low hp the stench combined with normal damage can cause that permanent death. Just the stench too, maybe, if character really has low hps.

Granted, it's not a place for people with low hps, so lowbies could get killed even without taking normal damage. Don't know if the stench mobs are found elsewhere too, but that's the situation in Hidden Source. Other than (raging) torbaks, like intially brought up in this thread, in HS area only problem there is just their hp amounts.

//edit: noted the mention about Heretic's Hovel, but I think the idea is still the same.
