It could be that awesome or even more..... Depending on yourself
If you are looking for a "solo" game that will bring you from tutorial island to max level without or with only very little interaction with other players (all with "go get me 50 thingies"'s quests; then you may find Ryzom difficult and boring as soon as you reach mainlands....
If you are looking for something different like
- Freedom:
* of working any skill you want with same chara: healing, sword, mage , axe, affliction (hex mages), digging (harvest) and crafting...
* of exploring very big and dangerous lands to find awesome looking landscapes and sunset-sunrise
- Real interraction with players;
Teaming is really great in this game and levelling goes pretty fast if you are in the right team
Chatting at stables or anywhere else
Exploration in team...
This and so much more.......
Then you may have found your new home
And as you can probably see on the intensifying forum activity of the last 2 weeks; lot of us have been waiting about 12 or 6 months (depending on cases) only to be able to open that door again: Ryzom ain't a game: it is our home
Is it really that awsome?
Re: Is it really that awsome?
Hmmm: Found one of the story that made Gillest what he is/was...
Remember the old man
Gillest was there in the first week one odd day of Sept 04 and will never leave till life makes us apart

Re: Is it really that awsome?
In my opinion the best feature in Ryzom is the fact that your actions define who you are. Just like in the real world you can do "anything", and there is no classes.
I have seen many great players that I admire very much. Not caused because they have mastered a skill. But just because they are great. Some are brave, some are humourus, some are subtle, some are sensitive.
And I also love the fact that some use brute force, and some use their knowledge of the agressive animals, to be able to travel certain regions. It's up to you, and this game lets you develop a character and style that is "unique"

Actually, watching sunsets is another very demanding and challenging activity on Atys and a unique experiencegillest63 wrote: * of exploring very big and dangerous lands to find awesome looking landscapes and sunset-sunrise
The only MMORPG in which you bash each other with wooden swords exclusively.

Re: Is it really that awsome?
Yup, there are both mounts (Mektoubs) and a teleport system. But what really makes the game awesome is travelling to other countries; you can get around the world at level 1 with just a combination of patience, brains and luck. The mobs will eventually move enough so you can rush through. You'll need to learn the mobs' behaviours, learning that is usually a painful experience...zythik wrote:for the replies, It's gonna be awsome, just another thing.. is there any mounts? or any way to travel around fast?

Re: Is it really that awsome?
I wonder about the wording for that announcement for Ryzom returning next week. When they say that, did they mean they will allow free trial players to return to the mainland and stuff?
I really hope so! *cough cough* >.>

Re: Is it really that awsome?
Yes, you can ride your mount, and have up to 3 packers following wherever you go. (But don't forget to bring their food if you travel long distance.. )cynthel wrote:Can you ride your mount and have a packer follow you too?
