Yes, it is propaganda. But I am in a very dark mood thanks to current events, and this does indeed fit my image of a win by the soul devourer

The Dragon, the Kitin, even the Karavan - if they caused the destruction of Atys.. it would be more physical (with prettier special effects), and at least people could run around screaming and dodging flaming debris.
The Goo has potential, but it just doesnt feel right.

Being unable to control your own actions due to lag lends itself to the beleif that "something else" has taken that control, leaving Homins trapped inside their own heads -screaming silently but incapable of doing anything- until Ma-Duk gets around to digesting them. Or maybe its like insects paralyzed by wasps, waiting to feed their young.
Let your imagination run free... maybe it will get away..
