So, what does all this mean for Atys and its homins?
If the game ends, what happened? Would we assume that the newlands were ravaged by a massive invasion the Kitin had been silently preparing for many cycles? Atys destroyed entirely by a stray meteor or such that the Karavan could not divert? Or will the living planet and all its inhabitants be assumed to go on, albeit out of sight and control of the players (unless a forum RPG or such was started based on it)?
If the game doesn't end, do we bother to translate into RP any of the turmoil of these weeks? Probably could get away with ignoring it as far as our homin characters are concerned.

Re: RP explanation...
Everything - homin, kitin, kami, karavan, yubos, etc - are just part of the dragon's dream.
Something, maybe digging in the prime roots, constant outpost squabbles or even Jena's shoe collection woke the dragon.
We'll never know because once the dragon wakes, we're gone.

Anissa chronicle's, Part II, a "yet-again-the-same-new-beggining"
Behold, young homin, hear, hear!, Listen to my words. I, the harbinger of doom, shall tell you what happened to your ancestors. In the last days of our beloved Atys, the Karavan suddenly decided that after having been ripping the root planet resources for years, our planet was no longer profitable. Indeed, the Karavan had spent 8 months in silence, thinking whether it was a good idea or not to have bought the planet from the previous planet owners, and finally, what a few knew, some suspected and most feared, happened.
Jena sent message to all homins, saying that it was difficult times for Atys. The message was clear: she, and her troops from the skies could not end up landing in Atys, for a large amount of troopers had to be fired due to lack of funding. The almost-three-years-old announcement of Jenas arrival was indeed, not true. The announcements of new buildings that would allow homins to claim territories had been replaced by gambling apparatus.
Ma'duk, in turn, confessed that Atys had been his first mistake. Zorai sages had announced changes in weaponry, improved economy and new tasks for homins, but it became clear to all that those were false prophets, liars, to the eyes of many.
For the poor homins, it was moment of fear, uncertainty and doubt. Uncertainty, for it was not clear if they should/could find another God to worship. Some homins dedicent to camp in tents, some, run to the outlands, fleeing from the Lagmonster that plaged Atys. Lagmonster you said? aye, young homin....
The Lagmonster, a terrible creature that had made brief appearances in the past, appeared in all its glory and might. Homins were no longer afraid of a kitin invasion, for a kitin is a creature a homin may fight, but the Lagmonster cannot be harmed. Hundreds of homins could only stare at the evil creature in frustration. Some whisper that the Lagmonster came from a Kitin Lair, a place that, until then, had been only the subject of fairy tales that old homins told their children if they did not eat their stinga beans.
But there are new things to come....

Re: RP explanation...
My RP reason is here -->http://forums.ryzom.com/forum/showthrea ... 74&page=16 ... And that is, I'll go with option 1, Which is I didn't survive... And because of that, The rest of the guardians that survived, were unable to stop the evil 'kitin lords'
... And atys was destroyed. (Atys as a planet still exist, but all homins are exterminated).
Edit - And if the game ever comes back, Then that will mean the guardians managed to seal a certain part of atys, and save some homins!

Re: RP explanation...
The goo spread in all continents of the planet, unstoppable, killing all form of life.
How did it do that ? One of the Black Circle's experiments could have gone wrong. Or, too preoccupied by the everlasting factional conflicts, Homin forgot about the deadly disease and it was too late before they could react.

Schrödinger's cat teaches us that since we have no way of observing Atys after the plug is pulled, Atys, the Homins, Kitins, and even the Dragon exist in a superposition of eigenstates.
Being optimistic, this means that someone buying the game some time later may look into the box and find Atys and the Homins perfectly intact and alive.

The Karavan, in the continuing absence of Jena , were unable to prevent Ma-Duk from absorbing the souls and free will of all Homins with a Nanoseed.
Newborn infants and those freakishly rare, already doomed individuals who could not take up the Nanoseed survived unaffected - until they starved to death as no-one in the grip of Ma-Duk was able to care for them

Rejoice, Kamists, for this is what it is like to be at one with Ma-Duk.
