I certainly understand the point of view, I have several friends who have reached a similar point, and found renewed fun by starting a new character. This was meant to be a constructive suggestion, not a criticism. I apologize if it came across otherwise.meloner wrote:Maybe it's time things moved forward...the players you mention have been playing in a game that has been stagnate for years, try to understand them.

Ah, I definetly misread that. Many of the old plays like myself don't have fun re-leveling thing we've already leveled tho.
I had a bit of fun with my alt,(My IG son) but not enough to keep me playing him, I always ended up back on Red.

Wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, and certainly not you, Red.raven41 wrote:[...] I don't use cats,[...]

The community is what WE decide to make it. The best way to lead is by example. Frankly, I find you (YOU, Red) to be a pretty good example of openness and honesty and helpfulness, if sometimes a little cranky (and understandably so).raven41 wrote: Now you(everyone not aimed only at you) can keep going on saying the community is just fine, or its not changing, But I personally am getting tired of blind people in game, and IRL, Ignoring obvious truths.

See my reply in the post above.raven41 wrote: And as for the last line, That is a bit selfish, Maybe its time for some new content? not tell them to start over.
To add to it, there are things we can directly influence, and things we can't. Finding something positive (fun) to do is within our grasp. Flaming the devs has so far proved of little benefit.

Yes, I admit I sometimes get alittle "cranky" I usually try to keep my RL probs away from the game, but this last major RL prob fully overlaps into game.
iceaxe68 wrote:Some of us noobs are trying to make a positive difference as well.
I hope you can. I'v seen many reach the point of getting involved in the "problem" part of the community, And giving up on changing it for the better, and even worse, playing the game.

Thanks for the hugs , But unfortunetly. I have decided against returning, Hurts too bad. My account will be ending around Sept.25th Will be the first time I cancled it (on purpose got cancled once cus the bank ran outta money ) since I started Aug - 05 (played on a different account at first).
I have faith that the community can bounce back, I'm sorry I wont be around much longer to help. I'll still lurk the forums for a short time after my account dies.

I think people are going to have to get back to how the game was intended where you use some diplomacy with the guild owning the OP and stuff you'd like and/or decide if its worth taking if an agreement can't be met. Sure people might not like it, but it keeps the game going. Without conflict things get stale and from what i've been reading on the forums it seems people are ready for some sort of change. Like it or not change seems to be happening, now you just have to be ready to cope.

there isnt a proclamation from jena for the KA to work with the kami .i only mention jena cause ive read the kami alliance forums and know they're fine with sharing.
quote from jared96
"In Ryzom, any advantage is reinforced over time. An advantage in 250 cats means one side can bring it's recruits to full strength in a much shorter amount of time. If we as little street kids could figure out a way to make their games more balanced, challenging and fun....I would think that a game company or even the players themsleves could come up with an idea or two."

Re: So that something remains...(community distribution project)
Thing is, both sides are more than likely going to split eventually. Most games don't even let opposing sides talk/interact with each other which is something i'm kinda glad ryzom didn't follow. Although it does mean there will be a lot more conflit and unhappy people while actually playing the game, it does give it a more real world feeling and make those friends that you make that much more precious.

Ah, I´m sorry Pero. I seem to have misread your intentions.danolt wrote:Acridiel,
My concerns are targeted directly towards the non combatant, those who are opposed to PvP. I am hopeful that a way to get OP goodies to those who do not participate in OP fights can be found that has little to no factional politics. I have said repeatedly that I want to support a program that targets the nonpvp crowd. Yet you and many of those who say they support a "community" program for noncombatants seem to be adamantly opposed to having that conversation.
What I am hoping for is finding common ground. The smart and easy thing would have been to remain silent but I actually thought that the server was ready for an inclusive project. I think the common ground is the non pvp player. That a program designed for this group would get maximum participation. That does not seem to be the goal here. The goal here seems to be to throw as much poo at those who do not think the last community project was flawless.
Pero
I was thinking quite the opposite of you.
My sincerest appologies to you, but not to those who realy do oppose a
"Non-PvP gain" of OP-Materials.
And as I said earlier, and hopefully someone will do it, our guys on this "Programm" have managed to come up with
a great way to please almost everyone. (at least 99% ) Just ask them, I´m absolutely sure they will help you come
up with a solution for your server

Re: So that something remains...(community distribution project)
Best thing I can think of for non combatants is to form a guild with combatants. They get what they can and provide mats for the crafters who in turn turn them into gear for combatants and noncrafters. It'd be a nice cycle but most people seem to get their guild into one catagory of player and it really shoots yourself in the foot.
