So that something remains...(community distribution project)

Post by xtarsia »

OK.

Time for action..
Guild Name : Project Hope
Guild Leader : Laili
Guild Motto : Hug a Yubo
GH Location : Fairhaven

What will happen:

A) Anyone wishing to donate, get in touch useing your alt. You will be invited, you will then be able to place donations directly into the guild house.

B) On saturday the 15th at 12:00 GMT - 15:00 GMT all cats will be distributed to all guilds that have signed up from the Fiarhaven stables. Then again every saturday after
Condtitions for signing up :

A)Guild cannot have owned an OP within the last ~14 days.

B)If a guild declares on an outpost for what ever reason, it will not receive OP produce that week. Participation in OP wars is ok
(this is a compromise with regards to comments earlier in this thread, and fairly simple)

C)Faction does not matter. Other activities do not matter. We are non-biased
Conditions for donations :

When you place anything into the Guilds Guild House, press Shift + G
Go to the latest "Donations dd/mm/yy" thread simply state how many stacks of each quality your are placing and/or OP mats.

ie
_____________________________________________

Cats
10xQ250
5xQ200

OP Mats
2x Q200 Maga Duk
_____________________________________________

Donations cannot be made with "strings attached". Anyone attempting to do so will find an IG mail advising to collect their cats at the same time as usual collections by guilds. Otherwise they will be destroyed.

Q50 Cats are accepted (though will be destroyed if there are too many)
They will not be distributed in the same manner, but rather on request.
How Distribution will be done fairly:

Each Guild is to supply their current active player base. Active counts as more than once a month.

a simple head count will suffice - this is a matter of trust, please dont abuse it.

Each QL of cats will be counted in total on the saturday morning.

calculation as follows:

total cats at Q / total head count x guild head count = share of cats at Q for guild

OP mats will be handed out on rotation.
This is not fixed and 100% unchangeable - its is merely a starting point.

Anyone wishing to help Distribute on Saturdays, Please send an IG mail from your Main to laili. only laili will know the identities of helpers alts.

There is currently 1 position open for a helper. Preferably a karavneer/neutral at this time.

Im about 7.4 million dappers short of a GH...

A PLAN FOR THE NEW "community distribution project".

(shock horror)

The plan.

create an alt.

that alt will have a GH and will be the GL
the "CDP" will NOT accept ownership of an OP.

ANYONE wishing be able to donate CATS/OP MATS (only)
is to create an alt that can join the Community OP guild as a *Member* ONLY.

each Saturday at 12:00 GMT - 14:00 GMT all the contents in the GH at that time are to be counted and divided amongst all those receiveing.

Guilds receive 5x more than "solo" guilds
Guilds count as **more** than 2 active (regardless of alts)
a certain amount of trust needed here. no bickering over this please..
Suggestion about greater accuracy by wakatack69 (Post #7) noted

minimum of 1 stack per recipent. (im quite pessamistic about how many donations the project would get)

The Guilds IG forums will be used to track input/output
1 thread for input, 1 thead for output
new threads will be created on the first saturday of each month.
dated of course.

HOs and helpers by application only.
Via IG mail.

and an "equal opportunities" policy in that the "main" toons of the HOs will be 50/50 Kara/Kami (where possible)
RE: post #18 - Neutral players wishing to help dont affect the Kami/Kara ratio, as they are neutral :)

anyone will be able to see the goings on.
anyone can donate very easily.
*** anyone COULD frame the players that run the project by posting false information***

HO identities will remain anon for the most part (unless they themselves make it known)

This system pretty much gives full disclosure of everything. no need to trust anyone really..

(there is also possibility for expansion to include other resources ie boss mats/npc gear ect but lets stick to cats first)

i'll run it if no-one else steps up.
yes im a "Kami" but tbh i play wow more, and id like to see some form of community recovery from the current "mess".
and no, i dont expect it will be anywhere near as good a job as what brave did (at least for a very long time)

before anyone does anything.

thoughts from the community?[/size]

Pero and some karavan members want the comm. cat project to only benefit NON-COMBAT guilds.

The old comm. OP project benefitted anyone without an op, regardless of faction, religion, combat status etc.

Huge difference.

anyone without OP access could join to receive from the project.

the only stipulation i made about faction was with regards to those helping to run the project.

wich imo should'nt be needed, but i said it anyway.

As for "non combat only"

Why? the project is designed to be totally non-bias.

anyone can become combat/non combat at the flip of a coin.

also there is no requirement for those not wishing to donate, to dontate.

With restrictions like that it can hardly be called a COMMUNITY cat project now can it ?

Edit : good luck Xtarsia :)

LOL so the Ka is run by Pero and you lot over there dont have a mind of your own. Guess you cant see thats its called a community program, even muppets that fight for the KA can get cats from this program since the KA makes them dig for cats.

Hello,

As you can see, i am a member of an OP owning Guild, however I am definetly in support of such a "Project"; so everyone on Atys can experience all that is available :)

As per the edited Quotes; i will focus my reply on this paragraph.

A suggestion for fair distribution would be using the IG Guild forums so all participents must list there Guild AND Members (not just a number, so if it "needs" to be done, one could check such a Character really exists), then distribute using 1x Stack per person per round [see examples]

5x Guilds, with 2 @ 2 members 2 @ 3 members and 1 @ 5 memebers.
Total of 15 participents

45 stacks are donated that week; so it would go like this;
Round 1: 2 @ 2 stacks, 2 @ 3 stacks and 1 @ 5 stacks
Round 2: 2 @ 2 stacks, 2 @ 3 stacks and 1 @ 5 stacks
Round 3: 2 @ 2 stacks, 2 @ 3 stacks and 1 @ 5 stacks

TOTAL of:
2 @ 6 stacks, 2 @ 9 stacks and 1 @ 15 stacks

And when the numbers dont add up..... Say 41 Stacks... then only 2 rounds would be distibuted that week (using above example), and the rest kept in GH to combine with next week - so no-one ever gets more then others.

My two yubos ;)

as i recall we didnt have cats in september of 2004, i got 3 masters without cats before they were introduced into game. i do like the idea of handing them out... but a better plan would be to re-open old lands, reimplement honor points and make faction items purchaseable again.... including cats

my 2 cents,
DD

PS see me if 250 cats are needed for the community (since melinoe seems to have only invisable players we dont use many) :)

sounds good, if i recall some kami guillds already did donate to the community op program before (as in cats from their own ops) . so not much change there.

as for the non-combatants part, meh let everyone enjoy the game for once.

that would require GF to do something and judging from recent history thats not happening. the people who can improve ryzom right now is the players.
quote from jared96
"In Ryzom, any advantage is reinforced over time. An advantage in 250 cats means one side can bring it's recruits to full strength in a much shorter amount of time. If we as little street kids could figure out a way to make their games more balanced, challenging and fun....I would think that a game company or even the players themsleves could come up with an idea or two."
