ATS: Other changes

From the news here we have some new things in test on the ATS! Please leave your feedback on these points:
  • You will find the ergonomic improvements listed here.
  • You will be able to choose to have your camera recenter automatically or not.
  • The rule will change when using healing actions in PvP; you shouldn't be kicked out of team anymore. Read more here.
  • You sap crystals will stack.
  • You may receive one or two new titles related to your allegiances.
  • You will notice female homins have female titles.
  • Some titles will be changed according to your feedback on the document published here.
  • RoS: Chiang the Strong will be less chatty and will only welcome you. A female Zoraï will be the NPC giving directions inside the Rangers camp and information about Homins and Factions. Thanks to her, refugees won't be lost anymore.
  • A deactivable pop-up will appear when you "die" to explain how it works.

get it tested, half of these changes are cos of the fact they weren't tested correctly first time arround :rolleyes:

Some good changes even if they are long over due, i'll look forward to them being patched on aris :)

That all (mostly) sounds like fun :)

at least -something- is happening.. but imho these are fixes that should have been done in beta or very post-beta stages..... ¬.¬

First observations after poking around on the ATS.
  • Sap crystals stack and show their quality on them, yay! (Note: pre-patch sap crystals don't, only newly created ones.)
  • Turning the camera recentering off works, thanks ever so much for that. (Though the recentering now scrolls rapidly rather than being instant, and that's a little dizzying.)
  • The factional titles were there. But I noticed no change in other titles or any female titles, I'm still a master swordsman.
As for the ergonomic improvements:
  • There's still a delay when you move during foraging and spellcasting, and still a stumbling when you stop foraging, but the interruption is faster than it is now.
  • Doube click mode works fine, as does turning it off.
  • Creatures shout a lot less often. It almost feels unnatural standing in a herd of herbies for a minute without hearing one shout.
  • Characters do still end up standing while harvesting, but not as often.
  • Auto equipping works fine, as does turning it off, thanks for that.
  • Spells can't be cast while running, but there are still broken incantations if you try to cast a spell right after you stop moving. If you're on /follow then spellcasting while moving still works as it currently does.
  • Character selection window still selects the first slot, not the last character used.
All looks fairly good apart from a few bugs that you already should've received tickets about. :)

Yes, English new/female titles aren't yet on the ATS. Only French ones and partially German ones are in the current version.

Indeed... This will be fixed in this patch or next one.

We patched the ATS today, here's what changed:
  • Max resists are back to 275
  • Fyros citizenship mission is fixed
  • Stamina consumption in bare hand fighting is now displayed right
  • Pistol and bowpistol minimum weight is increased from 0.5 to 1.5
  • Bowrifle weight is reduced from 4 to 2

there won't be a delay anymore and your character won't "stumble" when you stop foraging.

So, when we try and run away from an aggro or a gas cloud, I still gotta stop and pick up my car keys, it just won't take quite as long.
We're adding a double-click option to use the default contextual actions such as attacking a target.....Among other things, this should prevent you from attacking a selected target by mistake.We're reducing the frequency of idling animations. Your character will be stiller and women won't sneeze too often anymore. The other consequence is that creatures will shout less often.

When you attack an entity without holding a weapon (for instance, you're holding a tool), you will automatically equip the last weapon you used in the current game session. If you didn't equip a weapon beforehand you'll drop what you were holding and will fight bare hands.

[06/18 UPDATE] Given your feedback, we will make the auto-equip mechanism (#5) optional and it will be set as default for new characters.
Ok those two sounded contradictory, glad to see later post that this will be optional as digging i field of PR plants is likely to get me dead.
7. When entering the character selection window, the last character you used should be selected by default instead of the first slot. Moreover, if you just created a new character, it will automatically be selected.
I'd be more impressed if there was an option to auto load this toon after a preset time limit instead of waiting for me to hit the button.

To be precise, you will now drop your car keys while standing up from your source, rather than after running 5 meter. :p
