Two people gotta paint a fence.....they can each do their own work on their own or dude A can help paint dude B's fence 1st and then B returns the favor. The math can't account for it but either way they both did the same amount of work but that way the job sure seems to get done a hell of a lot faster and seems a lot more fun.

Hey, I ;like that :D

It helps once ya figure out how toi open the city maps. Soom in on the map, hold teh cursor over the city till it highlights and the double click. When ya find things of note (i.e. trainer, vendor) mark em.....rt click on map, selct "create landmark at ya current position"

I agree with the whole post but wanted to make a comment on the above. Thoygh rarely seen nowadays with the current server population, back in the ole days, certain harvesting habits would get ya ... well better said "leave ya" dead. This had to do mostly due to Kami Tolerance. "The land" can sustain a certain amount of resource production before the Kami gods start getting PO'd. When KT drops to 0, all diggers receives wrath of god strikes from the heavens with a hit for 6000 damage.

So back in the day where there was enough population, many times one would log in to find they couldn't dig cause KT was 0. And one of the things that particularly irked peeps in this predicament was seeing level 40 players continuing to dig mats in a 200 QL zone with KT at 0 or very low while the level 50, 100 and 150 zones where compeltely unpopulated and KT there was 100.

Back then I saw many a low level digger gassed, exploded or killed by wandering aggro where "requests to rez" where ignored or went conveniently unnoticed. I ain't saying it's right, I ain't saying it's wrong but I can understand both sides.

I understand wanting to jump from digging in Pyr to digging in Dyron for example as you have TP and vendor convenience, but when I went thru it, my thoughts were:

1. Why should I bother with KT when the 100 and 150 regions were totally empty with no KT issues ?

2. Why should I ruin it for other players who need and can actually harvest and use level 200 mats ?

For me it was a no brainer, OO and FT have oodles and oodles of safe spots. I'd park my animals in OO Lake or FT TP and dig 3k mats, craft them off, dig some more mats and craft those off till my animals were full and then cart my animals to a nearby hawker or to town....round trip3-4 minutes.

i dont think everyone should be pushing people away from guilds so much... this is a social game. as one you are weak as many you are strong. it is complicated and intricate. its fine if you want to do things on your own. more power to you. as you have already admitted, you have asked for help and you will need more. joining a guild in the beginning gives you that help from day one. not every guild is created equal. you should research them and talk to people in the guild. the people who are complaining about guilds probably didnt find a good match for themselves. instead of just being honest and finding a guild they enjoy, they started over or made their own guild. guilds are not ironfists, they should be friendly families. most guilds will welcome you with a hug and say goodbye with a hug if you chose to leave.

you are in control of your character not anyone else. if you dont want a gift/catalysts/money, dont take them. you may find people puzzled with your actions, because everyone loves helping newer people as you have already seen, but no one's going to banish you for doing such a thing.

if you join a guild, you still will get that WOW feeling when you go from one region to another.. you will still have all the excitement and joy. you might even be happy youre not dying 30-40 times trying to get there.. trust me, you will have plenty of chances to die and get into trouble countless other times.. thats what heretic hovel is for ;) there are places in the game that will always be a mystery. there are some that remain mystery even after you have been there. makes you wonder why a game designer would put so much aggro in one spot? *cough* highgrove *cough*

this game is what you want it to be and how you want it to be.

KT s no longer an issue not because lower player numbers but because of patch at EP2 time made it near impossible to get KT that low.-Kil

While it improved the situartion, post Episode 2 (mid 2005), there were still often KT issues. Flaming Forest and Dyron in particular.....I did my 250 run on HA in late 2006 a year after that patch and was often shut down in FF as peeps were often digging in teams for new jool sets in preparation for the next OP battle. With the population sag though, this has been limited mostly to holiday weekends. Last Thanksgiving and X-Mas holidays was an example. I finished up my run in January so havent been there for 6 months but have seen it mentioned in guild and region chat once or twice since then.

Just thought I would add an update.

I am still going solo for the moment. I am level 50 in about every skills. Some skills started to split up into specialized branches.

I lost those jewels I was given to. Or more like, I sold them just before they got damaged too much. I was starting to see messages about them being worned out (down to about 11 hits). I admit, I baught others but not as strong as those I had before. The first thing I noticed was my HP totals and such. Its lower then before, so I will have to be more carefull.

I tend to stay at the same spot between Davae and the Rising border. Last week I couldn't kill a lvl 5 MOB (ragus and such). Now I can. Most of the times I get killed is because one of them attacked me from the back by surprise while I was busy or decided to team up with the one I was attacking.

Most funny part in battle was when I tried to attack hudge gangs of average MOBs and winded up having 6 of them attacking me at the same time. I couldn't heat anything. I was being hit from everywhere. It was funny.

Oh and I have a packer at the stable. I also edit my skills to try to make them more efficient (also to shoot further !)

Hey browser, I saw you run past in Yrk last night and saw the guild logo. I figured it was a solo guild. nice graphic, by the way.

If you ever feel like teaming with someone I have an alt that I just brought to Yrk from Silan last night, would love to go hunting with you. Her name is Lissa. So far I've avoided getting any freebies for her, all her gear is self made or purchased with dappers she earned. No cats, either.
