Jeeez, why don´t you just try for yourself

1. Nope, they won´t activate and if set to "follow" Mounts will not teleport with you.
Riding through a portal will cause you to dismount (unless that´s been fixed, didn´t try it in a loong time), setting all Animals to follw will port them through the portal.

2. Well, selling stuff or swaping stuff
Nothing else.

If a mount/packer dies you´ve got 72 OFFgame hours to get all it´s load onto a new mount or somewhere else save.

I was playing hooky today at work when I made the previous post.

As I once mentioned in an SWG post -- if you read MMO forums while at work, you must develop the ability to recognize the sound of your manager's approaching footsteps, so you can minimize the forum screen in time before he or she reaches your cube!!! (Are there any Ryzom stanzas I can edit with so I can improve my sense of hearing in RL ).

Mektoubs are too expensive, especially when loaded with q120 resources as mine usually are -- the idea of experimenting with a TP while my butt was parked on a Mektoub seemed too risky.
