DT is dead right on this.
And the politics play a much more important role than levels.
Considering it can be a 3 month matter (or less) to get a combat skill to 250, after a short amount of time the actual combat values of most of the players are the same.
So, the key to winning in PvP is not levels or equipement as much as turnout.
And turnout is all politics.
From if the battles happen at all to how many people show up; it is all a matter of how you and your guild have fit into the community as a whole.
The "KA" is coherant because most of its memebers are willing to make short term sacrifices for long term gains. We are willing to trade cats for lesser quality ones in order to keep our relationships strong. We show up to each other's battles. We try to keep involved with the going-ons of our allied guilds. All of this requires some effort on the front end, but it pays off long term. It is politics.
This has it's ups and downs. I like the people on my side much more than I ever have. On the other hand, I am sure there are two or three Kamist I might like to get to know, and I will probably never have that chance.
There might even be some vile mercs who stubbornly keep saying that they are "neutral" that might not be so bad to hang out with; but as we run in completly different circles, it likely won't happen.
