Does anyone else get tired of Ryzom's 1 dimensional combat system?

don't worry your problems only start at 250 ;)
i'd say afflictions is one of the most underated skills by new players coming to the game since it's power and abilities are not seen aswell at lower levels.

when you get higher affy's hit better and so you can get to the situation where player X stuns the mob Y and the link lasts for the whole fight. meaning the mele hit every time and dont' take damage.

and zahan said the power of the amp dictates how much sap you use per 'tick' so it is pretty important

I would just ask for a little more graphics. That makes it easier to see what is happening.

neither am I , but I use affys whenever possible, and in most situations they can be VERY effective, PvP or PvE. You want examples - yesterdays OP defence - I spent half my time standing around unable to do anything cos "someone" had me almost constantly feared < no heals < team wipe. Not efective? I have done the same on PvE situations many times, but prefer stun. lvls? 120 DA, 140 OA. Effective? Very :)

Isnt that what a healer should be doing? healing? The Tank should be the sheild, Otherwise there would be no need for a tank :p ...

There have been many responses, you gave an opinion and others gave theirs. The tweaks needed are most likely needed to your stanza's, gear and tactics most likely. Regardless the skill your using, if not done effectively your not going to be good at it. I am not 250 in afflictions but possibly higher than you and I have the outmost confidence anytime I use them based on the target choice (PvP or PvE) and type of affliction.
