its no big secret this and will continue to be used against us, but hey I cant blame you
Keep in mind that it isn't just timezone at issue here. It's the combination of timezone *and* day of the week. If you schedule it for the weekend, timezone is less of an issue.
7pm BST is 1pm where I live (CDT). On a weekend, I can usually make that time and I'm wide awake. On a weekday, generally can't make it because I have a day job.
7pm CDT is 1am BST. That's a bit more brutal for both weekday and weekend play. So the impact is less day-of-the-week related than it is for us. But even then, 1am Fri/Sat night is more do-able for most than 1am Tue night because of the need to work the next day.
I am only speaking for my guild, but here's a peek into how we choose an attack time:
First and foremost: What date/time allows the majority of us (with obvious bias in favor of higher level players) to actually participate? Ideally we want everyone that wants to be there to be able to be there.
Secondary: What date/time will net us the most ally participation?
Third: How can we avoid a defense time that we can't make?
The first is weekday evenings (US time) or weekends (afternoons).
The 2nd is the same as the first really, but if we were told it wasn't, we would take that into consideration.
The 3rd is Thursday or Friday because it forces the defense date to Sat/Sun which makes time less of a factor for us.
None of this is revealing any secrets; it's all a bit obvious honestly. My point is that nowhere do we ask ourselves "what screws the kami the most?" There's a lot of assumptions about who is and isn't in the kamist alliances but I don't like to work off assumptions. I work off what know and that's the above 3 items.
When a euro kami declares on a Wednesday afternoon (my time), they do so because for them it's a better time. Fine. But that means we have to pick a defense time on Thu/Fri. Guess what? It's not going to be afternoon because then most of us couldn't make it. It's going to be in the evening. If you wanted us to even consider an afternoon defense time, setup the attack so the defense falls on a Sat/Sun. Honestly, it's entirely likely we will pick an afternoon time because we do have Euro members/allies.
In other words, we don't pick a time with the intent of minimizing your participation although that may be the indirect effect. I pick a time that maximizes our participation.
Why are we arguing all of this again? It's like a monthly thing around here and we all seem to keep saying the same things over and over and over.
