Questions are important. Asking questions in which the premise is never going to happen is a waste of time. You might as well ask "What if we were all yubos and peed at once, would it flood Atys?"

Teleportation can not happen without the Karavan or Kami, so asking what if is pointless.

But those questions are fun.

But what if it can? We do not know, because the kults only allow us to know what they want us to know and how they want us to know it.

The lore is clear that Elias Tryton opened "rainbows" that allowed some homins to escape the Great Swarming. Granted he is a renegade Prophet of Jena, so one may assume that he was using stolen Karavan technology.

That's Tryker history. Try the history that is not race specific.

It says nothing about what the rainbows were or who created them.

It is in the official Karavan history also. From the THE ENEMIES OF JENA panel of the Tryker Karavan Temple:

Elias Tryton, a fallen prophet who was corrupted by the Dragon, has reappeared on Atys and tries to influence the homins. He is the one behind the Great Swarming, unleashing the anger of the Kitins to demolish homin civilizations, he opened magic portals to send the survivors into the shadows of the Prime Roots. He underestimated the strength of the Karavan, who ended the invasion and protected the light of Jena in the hearts of the exiled homins. ...

Are we slaves in the true sense? I do not think so.
My first argument would be that we can at any time change our alliance to either faction, or even denounce our faith to said factions.
My second would be that when we find ourselves rendered unconcious we invariably end up waking up in some other spot. The question would be what transports us? I cannot say. Can Atys herself pull us to certain power vertexes? Or is it indeed a deity intervening?

I can say this though, I've yet to see a kami or a karavan intervene and raise a homin back to conciousness. They seem indifferent to our presence unless we adress them.

Thus my conclusion will be that we are free to choose what standard or ideal we strive for

We are worse off than slave.
While a slave has the ultimate option to resist and perhaps die, we can not. We can not fight the higher powers, and if we die trying, we will be brought back. And, really, we don't want to try. If, given the choice: 'be slaves or die,' we would all choose to be slaves. You can protest that you would not...simply because it is a pure hypothetical. When the time comes to do the will of a higher power, or suffer oblivion, you will obey.

We can change our alligiance...from one slave holder to the other.
And what is the difference really?

The thought that it is not the higher powers who bring us back is easily disproven. If you are beloved of Maduk, you have one range of kami controlled possibilities to which to be reborn. If you follow Jena, you have a completly different range of Karavan controlled points. If their skills were not neccisary in the proccess, why are they, or thier machines, always involved?

What if it is a species of Kitin that is bringing us back?

What if...What if?

The answer is simple.

Do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.

That is all there is to it.
