Would like to team up with people to show me around and find some of those 3k exp mobs that some1 mentioned earlier. At the moment im stuck at levelling up ranged combat as although im crafting basic ammo myself, its expensive.

Hello Tarathein,

if you ever feel lost, and need to describe where you are on a grander scale, try /where, this gives you a general position descripten like Verdant Heights, Majestic Garden, Yrkanis. A veteran play should then be able to ask you specific questions, that helps them to locate you.

If you want to train your ranged, you should craft the ammo yourself, and go for maximum damage ammo. Try koorin or gulatch oil, and beckers or mitexi bark. And you choice mats when ever possible. Maybe you want to know that you can use bow rifle and rifle ammo in both types of weapons ( rifles and bow rifles).

Cheers

My stats are if you have something similar

Melee: 48
Off Magic: 47
Def Magic: 30
Craft Armour:51
Craft Melee: 32
Craft Jewellery: 30
Forage: 50
Fairly similar stats. I'm into the 50s for Melee now. My craft skills are non existant.

Amen to that.

The thing with Ryzom is it's not one of these "do this, do that" quest driven games like EQ2. That part of the RoS is a bit misleading. You have to actually think a little and learn from your experiences, just as your character does. As time goes by, you'll find you learn more about how mobs behave and which ones are easier than others to kill. You'll learn which mobs give the best XP for your skills. You'll also learn when to run and when to fight.

If you at least give the game a chance until your sub runs out, I'm sure you'll get a better handle on things. Forget the missions until you just want to raise your fame; go out and find a team to hunt with. Ask in region and universe for advice and also for teams to hunt with. There are lots of helpful players in this game, all will be only too happy to give you much needed advice. Don't be scared to ask.

Oh and welcome to Atys. Hope you find your way and enjoy your stay more. ;)

With Regard to the the Ranged, it is perfectly possible to lvl on its own from scratch but low damage makes it hard, if you got another melee branch to about the 100 mark first it would make you alot tougher and give you a bigger stam pool to play with.

I found exactly the same thing to start with, but fortunately it was very short-lived as I had an invite into a great guild within hours of moving over, they kitted me out with some much better armour and jewellery, and I am now managing the ragus and gingos without too much trouble (though I'm hitting the sprint button if I get more than 2 on me lol)

I've soloed 5 lvls in magic this afternoon really quickly, and in a group (even if it's just 2 of you) it's probably twice as fast again.

What I found was there's loads of boddoc etc around that are fine if you're in your 30's, but at mid to late 40's it's very difficult finding a suitable soloing area with the Ranger armour set you get from the island, it may have been decent on the island, but it sucks big time on the mainland lol (at least, it does compared to the set a guildmate made for me, I instantly gained 400hp and don't seem to take half as much damage).

My recommendation would be to get yourself in a guild, it's so much easier with a bit of support, and once you get on your feet you'll be able to help the recruits that join up a few days or weeks later.

Oooh, I know, i Know... for Leanon has a way lower population then Arispotle, y´know.... ;)

I agree that a seperate Chat for Idle blabla would be nice, but the Universe-Chat simple wasn´t meant to be it.
And we always got around before it too.

Awell, it´s your server so play on it the way you like to.
Ah, and does the word : "Irony" mean something to you ;) :D :p
