I will be making arrangements for informal laisons between those on Southend Dunes Farm Roster and those who can continue to assist them in my stead, Eley among those who will offer assistance. I would love to see them get max threshold and invite all to help them do so:

I had a pleasant chat with one of the attackers in which he correctly observed that if I didn't want to pvp I needed to find another game and we proceeded to discuss ones he had tried that I might like. The attack wasn't personal or malicious, it occurred because Ryzom both sanctions and allocates its limited resources to developing game mechanics which enable pvp as entertainment for those who find attacking others fun. A game in which pvp and non pvp play styles are equally supported and coexist without either impinging adversely on the other is one I can play. Currently, pvp and non pvp play styles are not supported equally and pvp does impinge adversely on non pvp players, and in particular on the crafting community who very likely comprise the largest percentage of non pvp players.
Crafting is the greatest strength of this game in my view. I beta tested SWG and played for some months following, and recently took time out of game to try out Horizons. Early SWG and Horizons are both widely heralded as some of if not the best crafting systems in the mmorpg industry, and neither come even close to the creative and intellectually challenging system the devs created in Ryzom. Huge regard and applause for those who created it

And imposed on all it is. As a crafter I need to dig in pr. Only those who take sides however, can have tps in pr. We can't heal our digging friends from other guilds because game mechanics prevent us from helping others. We can be ganked while digging by those who find this fun, despite their fun makes our game unfun and distressing. The devs have not only enabled this practice, but sought to encourage it by rewarding those who ganked the non pvp segment of their subscribers with special items that only "honor" points could buy - and no, we couldn't get them from digging too as many of us find pvp so distressing to be around we couldn't participate in that either. And now we have ops, which is also the province of pvp at expense of non pvp players (my rationale for asserting this is the Dear Reader thread above). You should have worked ur pvp instead of ur dig skills btw Posmo, as instead of sweet um, nothing

Hats off to Neun and many others who read the writing on the wall long b4 I did. I now think giving means of access to production to cats to only those who prefer the pvp play style was by design, not oversight or poor planning at all. Planning ahead for the attrition they anticipated would result from converting Ryzom to a pvp based game, and among the crafting community in particular. Craft is gruelingly slow to level compared with all other skills, and when the Sinfuls, Blackknights, Shadowkknights, Whiteknights, Mialees, and many many more Q250 crafters ops have driven out of the game left, the pvp community would need means by which to replace them more rapidly than was then possible.
Call me bitter, twisted and cynical if you like, as I am.
