Action pack "taunt" macros?

Post by deadwolf »

I'd like to be able to use a blank slot in action pack bar to add verbal "taunts".

For example, you're in a team, and to rapidly let the team know which mob you are targeting, one click on an empty slot, and a message is autmatically sent to the team, i.e. "Pulling Hard Kipee"

I think it would lessen confusion as to which mob was being addressed. With large teams and a lot of mob around, it could mean the difference between life and death.

Thanks,

You can create a macro and assign it to a button, this will allow you to combine custom actions, text, and emotes all in the same press of a button.

Help me out here please korin. I am in game on my other comp, and tried to add new action. I didn't see a way to add text only, which is what I am wanting.

Can't get into the NA server for quite a while to come - most of this evening so it seems - was hoping to read up on it.

Well, I got adventurous and started playing around with the macros. And, well, it's pretty derned easy. Most of it is dropdown menus and if it doesn't do what you want, go one or two levels up and change to a different dropdown menu option. But to speak an auto "taunt", I did this:

Dropdown 1: (Category) Select Chat
Dropdown 2: (Action) Select Talk to Anybody
Dropdown 3: (Mode used for the talk) Select Team
Dropdown 4: (Message) Enter your taunt message (i.e. "Inc!", "Prepare For Battle", "Your mother smelt of elderberries and your father was a hamster")

Then if you want you can attach another action to it to auto cast a spell or use the taunt skill on your current target.

They made it pretty easy without having to memorize complicated codes.

Now I'm not sure if they've got a variable list out there ( %t or something), but it wouldn't hurt to play around with.

But explore the options. you can't break the macro system... and if you do, the devs will be grateful for helping them make a more robust system (once they've fixed it of course).

I didn't even know they had macros. Was really missing that. They should make it easier to find. I'm going to go mess with it now.

This work great :) but i have the same problem, cant find a %t or similar variable list that emulate the mob's name.
