It is a matter of moderation. The planet we live on is a living, breathing thing. We take to much from her, damage her too much, then the planet will die. The Kami simply wish to make sure that doesn't happen. To do this, they simply make sure that no one becomes so deeply embedded in greed that they would tear the land apart. While Jena or the karavan have yet to show their powers beyond reviving homins and transporting, the Kami have been able to esablish this control of resources over all homins. Any karavaneer who digs for long enough in one spot will be shown how the Kami treat such greed. The amount of materials a person can dig is far more than one needs for daily functions, not to mention, survive. Is it truly worth killing this planet so that a few people can drown themselves in materials? Where would that leave them? Nice armor and weapons, yet no where to use them....
However, I believe that this post is returning to once again a rambling of Kami v Karavan. It shouldn't be. This was more an issue of national pride v faction. Which is more important? Should faith be placed at the front, regardless of whom is the believer? If so, then having Matisian owners of OPs in the lakelands should not be a problem. Neither would have a Karvan Fyros guild or a Karavan Zorai guild own one.
but if National pride is more important, then a guild would have to be first and foremost Tryker to have an OP. This would mean setting aside religious hatred and focusing on the Tryker people as a whole, not simply a portion of them. There are strong guilds on both sides of the factions, so a Tryker that is composed of entrely Tryker would not be weak, as suggested by Aajolea, but rather stronger. The 'best of both worlds' possibly.
It seemed that the Trykers got along a lot better before OPs arrived and divided them. Even the temples that were built in the lands didn't truly divide them. Once over, they returned to their homeland and continued as before. It was only when OPs arrived that the storms arrived and blood soaked the sands. Tryker killing Tryker, as well as the other races now becoming involved. Kenshiro died for his outpost and the things he belived. He died unhappy, not because of the faction he chose, but because people he had believed were his friends and comrades had shown up to fight him (OOC: hes not in game anymore due to the OP battle and friends he trusted showing up to fight him).
You all speak of unity from a faction stand point, but the Lankelands aren't unified. The karavan do not control all of the lakelands, the neutrals still hold sway there.
