He would have hardly been the first, nor the last.

The main problem is that PvPers care about winning, where RPers care about the story.

Since PvPers will try to win at the expense of the story, and by doing so can affect the goals of the RPers, it doesn't really work.

Although, I will have to admit, E-2 has had fewer PvP problems than most of the half-arsed implementations out there. It still isn't that good, though.

As has been said many times, Ryzom is made up of the players that play it. Don't like the lack of players, play. Don't like PvP, don't do PvP. If you and enough others all do the same thing, it's won't be a problem anymore. The same thing applies to the community as a whole; if you and many others think Ryzom is dying, since you are part of the lifeblood of Ryzom, it will get one step closer.

World it self is unique looking, animations, graphics and sounds are fine. Also I like the ability adjust spells and abilities, item decay, economy and harvesting.

But have to admit that many other games have done some areas a lot better, like:
- quests (EQ2)
- spells & abilities (CoH)
- player towns (Horizons)
- house customation (UO)
- crafting (EQ2)
- NPC voice (EQ2)

Can't say much more, because haven't played so mnay games yet.

Hey. I'm a new player actually. I was really thinking the EXACT same thing as the very first post of this thread when I came on here at first... I saw all the complaints and the heated discussions and I didn't really know what I was going to get out of this game exactly... Lo and behold, someone actually made a thread about the exact question I had on my mind (just had to shuffle through some old threads in the forums to find this thread) wanting to see some positive outlook on why people play this game. So if you feel like this thread isn't helping, I'd just like to say I'm proof that it sorta is. I'd definitely like to know all the positive aspects of this MMO. I've played plenty of MMOs in my life, and I'm sure there are things that have been done better than this one. That's not the point though. I'm playing this game now. I've played those already. So, it's nice to look at what some veteran players have to say positively about THIS game, regardless of what other games have over it.

So, in short... thanks. I feel like continuing my newblieness and working my way up in Atys a bit farther, and hoping at some point to maybe meet some of you cool folks.

I wish i was a noob again,(a noob on the forum maybe he he ),the addictive rush of lvlin quickly an all the time gettin stronger, peeps helping you out left right and centre when really you havent a clue wats goin on, asking loads of questions and jus thinking, my god everyone is so friendly, the graphics are amazing, i can do watever skill i like. then you play for say 5 weeeks more an you become that friendly peep an you find yopurself answering all the questions you asked, helping a noob to buy a packer, seriously we are not trying to recruit you , , ,yea right.

he he gettin a good guild is prob most important thing, fluffy bunnies you the best . cause seriously the reason we play online games is to play with other peeps and this game is full of good mature decent peeps.

Im only playin for 6 months an there is nothin better than rezzin a few peeps or seein a bunch of peopel comin to rez you , peeps you dont know in game, or kittin out a noob with some gear.

Peeps have put lots of time into ryzom and claim to love it , to those leaving because of pvp or other related issues, i ask do you always leave things you care about, when its not goin your way or when things are tough ?

bvut wat do i know, im stil a noob to some of you ;)
