New Players and the Reasons to Love Ryzom

Post by enemy123 »

I got to thinking today as i looked upon all the recent heated forum discussions and realised all the good things in the game are getting overlooked and for a new player its kinda daunting to come to the forums and see all these non positive comments to put it lightly and i feel maybe it could be driving away potential players, specially if they combine what they have read here with the deserted starter islands and come to a misinformed conclusion.

So in light of that i thought it would be good for new players if people posted thier reasons for certain things they still like about the game and some of the good things a new player might expect if they decide to stay :)

Agreed.

Not so much any more, very many gone.

Ummm....

* Hope
* Potentially R2 - which still could be a massively innovative and successful thing and could, potentially, provide a safe haven from all the fighting.

The mobs.

Looking out over an area of 50 animals of different kinds is great. Seeing the carnivores attacking (with the herbivores winning some fights). Figuring out a way to get through a pack of ragus is exciting.

New players should love Ryzom cause they missed the page was up on official site during beta with "future contents"... I guess if I missed that page me too I would like Ryzom much more then actually... cause atm I'm thinking Ryzom is mutating in something different from something supposed to be.

look the artwork in the artwork section for example... u can see alot of cool scenarios, cities on big packers, ships to travel in water and a post-holocaust ambientation. Actually Ryzom is not in that way... and I choiced to play Ryzom cause "the missed page of future contents" and for these artworks.

but, if u don't look at this... u can say Ryzom is great, cause it is really...
I tried, trying and playing other mmorpgs too atm and Ryzom is still my favourite one. The hybrid ambientation, totally new races, skill system and graphics are totally awesome and all other games I tried/trying are more a child play then a real life simulation as Ryzom is.

also... Ryzom is a "mature" oriented game, optimized for exploration and use brain instead to click and grind skills 4 pvp... pvp is implemeted atm in a dumb way where to win a duel 1 vs 1 don't need strategy but just to be max level skill/items and hit the elemental button first of the opponent.

:D Read the first post again, Svayti. This is FOR new players, not necessarily BY new players - even if that would be nice.
