Mind you, apart from the actual event, i get the feeling most players don't just gank out in the open (ok, a few do...)
Most players seem happy to co-exsist without open warfare
So, no pvp limits, just lots of nice happy smiley homin!

This implies a few problems. say I am 145. At a 50 level range I cannot be hit at all by someone 195+ meaning I can stand around and heal all day long. and not even be attacked by the people that are in the zone PvPing.
A good idea, it needs a bit of work though yet.

Hmm...true. Might have to apply that to healing lvl too, but that would conplicate things. Hmmm....
Re: Constructive request
in all honesty i cant see them adjusting it unless there is a larger call for it. The same happens in PVP in all pvp lvl based games. I think as its new to ryzom people dont actually care what level people are to kill. for example i would personally not bother myself with someone who has a blue star on them. I dont know seems a bit of a odd one banding is a possible option but then your cutting down the scale of things i.e there might not be a lot of people in a certain lvl band. you could say all the people in light armour should only be allowed to fight other people in light armour and so on. blahhhhh i dont know :s

Re: Constructive request
Maybay just different zones per 50 lvls would help. So in a zone from lvl 50 you will only find homins below 50, in a lvl 100 zone homins between 50 and 100,...
But probably our community is to small for this.

Re: Constructive request
This was exactly my initial thought. It's hard to say whether or not our community is large enough for this or not. I feel like unless we make the plunge and do something like this, lower level players are always going to feel left out and that in itself will hinder the growth of the community. A bit of a catch 22.stijn wrote:Maybay just different zones per 50 lvls would help. So in a zone from lvl 50 you will only find homins below 50, in a lvl 100 zone homins between 50 and 100,...

I think the difficulty of each zone could be adjusted to account for the number of players at that level. If there were very few L100-L150 players, then that area could have a lot fewer kitins, for example.

Re: Constructive request
lvl cap is bad for open skill system like Ryzom.
Ryzom need badly PvP on/off flag.
now, healing should not be restricted (maybe per faction like it is now), but attacking while PvP off should be disabled.
BUT when you heal someone who is engaged to PvP you temporarily switch to PvP on (say 5 sec or less timeout from first heal to PvP on) and you can start kicking and be kicked. timer (say, 15... 60 min or more) "resets" every time you engage PvP (healing or killing).
it should be easy to see (title change or add someting to title maybe) who is engaged to PvP and who is not.
then, it will be your choice to be ganked or not
.. i'm sure there are flaws, but a lot less than lvl cap idea

Re: Constructive request
My highest level is 53...
I am all-for all-out open PvP, everywhere, with no "opt-out" option available, and no restrictions based on level or alignment. That is far from the standard opinion expressed here, but filling a hole in a dam with sandbags, ever thicker and more complicated bandages, rather than fixing it to begin with, offends me. The problem is obviously that people do not have fun when they die, and PvP almost wholly guarantees seemingly spontaneous and unceasing aggression and random death that seems hopeless to avoid and inevitable.
I would have more fun if it were all-out open PvP, I would still have loads of fun if there were no PvP at all. I will play and enjoy myself either way, but I must say that I am against overly easy solutions to complicated psychological and social phenomena.
Personally, I think they should stop working on all of this stuff, and fix bugs first. They add new features before fixing old ones.

I would argue that as it is today low level players feel less left out then they would with a level cap of some kind. At least thats how i feel, sure anyone can kill me with one hit and i probably dont make all that much of a difference. But at least i can tag along and participate. Having lots of fun as it is now

Re: Constructive request
Therein lies the problem homin... should you be allowed to bypass due to level restrictions, you are now free to rez the guy who is about to kill others. Many lower level guys get tagged for this very reason from what I see... I will run past a low level digger and the guy behind may kill him... I cannot fault anyone as I have been burned by guys I bypassed healing others.sipanek wrote:But at least i can tag along and participate. Having lots of fun as it is now![]()
