Interesting point, but imho hard to implement and balance. And players would tend to artificially make fights longer if that meant more xp on a long time scale. Don't look too far, those who were here for Ryzom beta will remember how XP was earned then: action based, and without cap. The more you use a skill, the more you get xp. result? players killing kipees with cold 1 (more actions, thus more xp), spamming heals, etc.

Don't get me wrong, not saying that I can't be done, but when I think about it, ther are not a lot of new xp paradigms other than mob=cake with xp.

And you would say the current system, where elemental is twice as easy to level as anything else, is properly balanced then? :D

Per action, hmm? Also interesting, and actually more realistic than the current per kill system: Stunning a zerx a hundred times gives me no experience, but stunning it only once and then having my elementalist friend kill it does? :confused:
So... what was the problem with that system that caused it to be removed then? I don't really see it. I see that killing a kipee with cold-1 would give lots more experience, but it would also take a lot longer. Killing 1 kipee with 10 cold-1 spells or killing 5 kipees with 10 cold-4 spells; it would both take equally long and give equal experience.
