I've become quite a fan of ranged weaponry in the past few months and feel it has quite a potential, the problem is I've hit a brick wall in terms of levelling usefully

most of the time I'm leeching xp from larger group and doing no real damage myself. I'd roughly compare it to 1h melee in terms of damage but a hell of a lot more time consuming and a hell of alot more expensive

even the crafting is getting me down a little, If I put 20 all supreme Q120 2h swords on the market they sell within hours, if I put the same in rifles/launchers/autolauncher I dont sell any (and I put em on damn cheap too(shameless plug)). Its all simply because no-one is interested in ranged atm

I know I'm reviving dead topics here but looking at the long term future development plans I still see nothing at all planned for ranged.

I dont want it to be comparable to elemental while wearing heavy armour, just would like it to be something like 2h melee

and before anyone asks I made myself a nice max rang/speed supreme rifle and have also tested using supreme max damage ammo (what a waste)

I just got started on ranged, figure that in a year or so i will be decent at it and at that time the patch to make it all worthwhile will come

Honestly though with outposts etc making PvP a more common occurence i think balancing stuff like this will go higher up on the devs todo lists.

they said they had plans to make it a viable alternative to melee and magic, but that it would require a complete revamp. they also said that unless they have enough time to perform exactly that, a full revamp, they won't deal with the range tree.

Yes I also feel with the new PvP content range would prove to be very useful if only it was sorted out.

Find the secret formula (it's not all about damage) and I can assure you that you can do the same DMG as a 2h melee'er.

im only 131 ranged fighter and crafter, but i know 250 people who own AoDs by shooting them cause they stop the cast and do a good 400+ dmg/hit.
Imo the guns are now already worth training, and will be alot more in the future so dont think your doing somethung useless cause youll be very handy on massive PvP etc!

Doesn't take that much time to craft 1000 bullets..
