Always said beta was the game i bought into i loved it alot and always hoped the game would manage to recapture some of the fun back one day...

* being able to effectively solo

* overpowered rather than underpowered forage exp

* forage mats that actually ... made sense to the storyline

* strategic fights (except for blind)

* The old magic animations

* the old magic amps

* a substantial sized player-base

* prime root mats that were always available (even supreme roots... which got a bit silly... but much less frustrating)

* No gank zones

Good old memories, Beta 1 and 2, were the best game I have ever played in my life, I had a blast playing those 2 versions, wish the real game was almost the same fun as those to games were :( .

Oh wow! I'd completely forgotten about the sandstorms.
Thanks for the memories. :)

I also remember them opening up PvP for the last day or so of Beta.
That was no fun, particularly with people exploiting the invisibility bug. :p

Open Beta 1 bordered on an arcade game feel, but it was hella fun... Bomb heals and bomb nukes, stuns that actually landed etc etc...

Ahh the rose coloured glasses are out. :) Yes OB1 was fun but don't forget:

* mages were even more unbalanced
* foraging was sooooo easy
* invisible walls
* slow combats
* inventory was even more chaotic than now
* even more stanzas that were useless or not functioning.
* exploits, exploits and more exploits (some would say just different exploits, remember the old mob pathing?)
* Super powerful magic staves that looked like the dog's stick
* remember the team window bug?
* mob special attack bug?
* bugs, bugs and more bugs
* etc, etc

It wasn't all bad, but it wasn't the nirvana some are remembering!
