I've heard some lv40 or so people shouting for teams in Pyr...I'm sure that counts as new (ish).

I'm not by any means a sociable creature ingame, but since last week there are 5 new players on my friendslist. And I bet those 5 aren't the only ones who's just joined us on Atys...so, yes, I've seen a bunch of them.

The people (in the game, not on the forums).
The magnitude of creatures.
The different lands you can travel to.
Prime roots (one of the coolest places i have seen in a game ever).
That teaming with more experienced players is not only possible but encouraged by xp system.
The skill system with stanzas.
That you can level beyond 60 (no real end game the way i see it, makes for much more traditional RPG experience then for instance WoW).
That not all creatures attack on sight (most of them dont, which is both unusual and very nice).
The lore with world tree, prime roots etc is nice. Basically the whole concept behind the world is great.

and so on...

(there are sides to the game that i do not like; but this was a thread about the things i love, not about what i hate)

The unique races and creatures. The way the environment interacts with itself. The unique lore and complexity to the lands of Ryzom. The stanzas and designing your own actions. The freedom to grow one character in any direction you wish, allowing you to switch and move through different activities. The helpful and mature people in-game.

Might be a bit hijacked, or it maybe relevant, but I am curious.

Not so much any more.
What changed? Why can't we rp like we used to?

Because a lot of the people that fuelled it, cared about it and paid attention to it are gone or going.

Oh :( Let's hope they are "taking a break" rather than Going, which doesn't seem too horrid if you take a step back...

Eps 1.
PVP/Power Players: All we can do is level and rp?!?! I am leaving! Nevrax is going to tank!

Eps 2.
PvE/Rp Players: All we can do is PVP?!??!? I am leaving! Nevrax is going to tank!

ss,dd :p

edit to add: hey, why don't you try being the first to unite PVP AND RP together eh? who say you can't RP if you PVP or vice versa?

Because in the current context its like trying to teach a dog a card trick.

Have you seen many new players lately? I sure haven't.
One would get that impression if one was taking Fyros, Zorai, or Tryker as example. Matis gets plenty of new players.
Jelathnia, Kasarinia, KianShi, Maethro, ShuaLi, and OPaxie (Arispotle)
TeiJeng (Leanon)
