Constant Freezing...

Crud.
Then I must agree, after today's patch, the lag problem seems resolved, but now after a painfull humiliating death, whenever I spawn into town, yrkanis mainly, I am frozen. That's why I am here, I'm in between freezes, and it takes me so long to load back up. So if I was a Tech support guy, I would say,

Ok, it seems after a long clinical look at your problem, it is my strongest recommendation that you NEVER DIE AGAIN! And the problem is gone

I don't think it is the computer though. I have my NET window up all the time, and when this problem happens the ping is at 14k on entry, and the up and downloads are rapidly flick between the same numbers.

Not sure how to approach this one.

Ok, this constant freezing issue was driving me nuts. It would let me play my Fyros toon, but not my Matis. I turned all graphics to the lowest setting and it would sometimes allow me to play my Matis for a while up to a half hour before it locked up. Most of the time the lockups would give me ATI driver errors.
Windows XP SP2
ATI 9200 128m
AMD Athlon 2600+
512m of DDR 3200
So, I tried:
D3D--freezes system and is default
OpenGL---no difference
Updated my video driver to the Catalyst 4.9---No difference
Ran defrag...hehehe ---better but still freezes my system in a few min.
Deleted that toons /save files as suggested by the GM--no change
Ran antivirus programs, spybot and adaware~ just in case ^.^
Uninstalled and reinstalled Ryzom since after one crash it refused to launch at all even after reboot.
Upped my BIOS AGP Apeture size...../shrug...was gettin desperate.
And Finally put in a Support request in game. they are so wonderful and quick on response. However after explaining all this I was told there was " a fix" in the forums and I could find an answer there. However for some reason couldn't get them to say what this hidden fix was.
Soooooo, to conclude my rambling I finally found the fix!!!!

I had an old Nvidia geforce2 MX400 - put it in------Problem is GONE. ^.^
Sadly it is only 32meg ~ and is half the Vid ram the sys requirements state a the minimum.
Runs perfectly No problems at all now
This game is not compatible with ATI's Which is sad since I had just upgraded it.
I did ask the GM if the issue with lockups for ATI users was being addressed or not and was answered with..... "Have a Good Evening" ( I'm pretty sure that translates to "shut up and go away")
