The lonesome Zorai (why is Zorai underpopulated?)

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

2GB does help a bit, but unless you really need 2GB it isn't really worth it.

As for dual core, unless your software and OS is for multi CPUs, it is a complete waste.
Assuming you run a multi CPU OS, the only gain you will see is that SoR can run on one core while everything else runs on the other core, which isn't much gain either.
To have the benefit of multi cores/CPUs, you either have to run several heavy load programs and/or software which is made for it (often render software, CAD/CAM, sound/image processing etc.).

Some more random thoughts vis a vis this thread.

To know and understand a maze, is to comprend the tapestry of life and navigate it with wisdom.

Kiss is one way, but not the only one to show lave. Love is in a touch; a smile; the remembrance of days gone, to name a few.

Witherings is a pretty safe place to travel, the hardest areas to sneak around in is probably around, and near to, the three stocks.

As for blue and the masks, here you have something which is completely different than the other races.
Besides all the other races look the same to us Zorai. :p
And if I remember correctly, Zorais is the only race to have been alligned with both karavan and kami.
I wouldn't play any other race, already tried, but is still my only race to play. And the first race I picked when I started on SoR. :)

I couldn't agree more. Due to the low population of the Zorai, it almost seems to be that the Zorai get noticed a bit more than any other race. Also, the Zorai are, without a doubt, the biggest people in the game. To me, I see nothing but benefits from choosing the least chosen race. I even tried making a Fyros character, but never even officially logged in with him. I don't think I'll play anything but a Zorai either.

They are underpopulated cause theres noone around :-o
vinnyq wrote:So why do you guys think Zorai is the least populated race?

I might be wrong here but in the past Zorai has always been quite deserted.

Is it:

The naming?

The map design?

The weird avatars?

Perpectual underpopulation caused by underpopulation? (i.e. most zorai leave zorai once they're more advance to hang out at other civ because it's more populated)

The setting? (wet dark icky jungle)

The deadends? HAHAHA. hate ded ends >.<

I think map design is not a issue. In a time ye learn routes to navigate everywhere in witherings. I think it's just same to Matis (witch is another bit mazey land imo). In low lvl area it's not more confusing than Matis one i think (and ye dun have to fear that ye fall off from those cliffs) =)

I think in race issue most of ppl choose their first character according to backround story of game. Mayby Matis ones are too tied up to old "Elf" models and that why race is so popular... or then they just want to play girlie :P

Issue of Zorai avatars seem to annoy some homis, usually ones that are not Zorais. I'm not sure if to what this is related. Is it not being monkey, not being girly or not being midget?

In whole game time i've played i've never thought that Zorai is underpopulated. There are plenty of Zorais, new ones pop in and old ones leave. That's circle of gamelife.
When new ones come in, best way to get company is to join guild and stop moaning about teams. Guild usually provide network of friends to hunt, explore or do things together. Why there should be 100's of new ones around capital city to seek team?

Seems that this issue pops here in board every now and then.

/IC This is prolly just evil scheme of Matisians to control Zorai population, so beware everyone./IC

I find the jungles of the Zorai to be dark and dismal places, seemingly night there more often than in the other lands, and often raining too.
I realise this is probably a distorted perception, but it is how i think of Witherings.
Another feature of the zorai lands I dislike, is the high population of the mobs, even without the radar zoomed out, it is filled with orange dots and effectively useless. Give me open space and room to see things coming :)
Navigation isnt a big issue. true, it is frustrating at first, but I developed my sense of direction playing the original Wizardry, and could recognise where i was from 3 perpendicular lines on the screen :p

Im not playing a Zorai, and dont spend much time there, and if I did play a zorai, I still wouldnt spend much time there :D

They maybe underpopulated but in the begin of release all the strongest people i knew came from fyros (mikelaw, zenchi) or zorai (dynz, petej, doxa silverion) so although they lack in numbers they make up for it in strength :)
And kipee mull isnt a maze :)
