The lonesome Zorai (why is Zorai underpopulated?)

Post by vinnyq »

So why do you guys think Zorai is the least populated race?

I might be wrong here but in the past Zorai has always been quite deserted.

Is it:

The naming?

The map design?

The weird avatars?

Perpectual underpopulation caused by underpopulation? (i.e. most zorai leave zorai once they're more advance to hang out at other civ because it's more populated)

The setting? (wet dark icky jungle)

The deadends? HAHAHA. hate ded ends >.<

I think it is their slavish devotion to the loony Kami cult. That certainly turned me off. I mean really, put a permanent wooden mask on your face? How annoying is that? Can you fit a soup spoon through there? Do they just give up kissing altogether?

i think our population and perceived presence on Atys fits well within the Lore. if u generalise you could see patterns in race selection and player type i think.

To answer your question i imagine the mask and blue skin stops a lot people being able to relate to their avatar. The land design, graphical style and weather are excellent in Zorai. but as u said many people gravitate to the populated area's

Personally I'd blame

7. The lag monster, especially in winter

I don't appear to have trouble elsewhere with this beast, but Zorai in winter can be a killer..

thats strange, i hardly ever get lag in witherings! Ok zora i do, but then all capital cities get laggy.

I noticed last night when kyerna was in the jungle with me that she tended to jump around all over the place!

and there was me thinking the tryker lands were the laggiest!

Id say the reason for there being less Zorai is the fact that the appeal of a monk type char isnt as appealing as a brutish fyros warrior, a proud matis Lord type char, or a tryker/Irish drunk!

That' s just because I' m not accustomed to the low amount of gravity in the jungle; I have a low center of gravity you know!

And I' d have to agree with Ali and Rushin on this; it somehow makes the Zorai less accessible to some; but you have that sort of preferences in all games actually. It just shows pretty badly here. Though I must say I' ve been seeing a lot more younger Zorai players these past few weeks, so maybe something is changing.....
