Re: The Last Tale chapter 1
Very nice story Legokid. I'm no scholar but I read your tale, and took the liberty to make a few gramatical, and historical changes. I hope it's helped you some. Take it or leave it. I'm sure there are much better english scholars than me.
Long ago after the Kitin War, when the races of homin returned to their homelands, Atys was still. Yet questions flowed around the land as whispers on the wind. Is the world safe? Did the kitin return to the deep? Did Jena or Ma-Duk save us? These questions stirred the hearts of homin, with a desire to explore and discover far-distant lands. The homin of Tryker wondered about their home and the other far-away lands.
The leader of the Tryker race selected six great masters to journey to the distant lands of Atys. The homins chosen for this heroic expedition included: LaBeka, Master of Weapons; BeCona, Elite Gunman; LeSindo, Elemental Archmage; LeSinta, sister of LeSindo, Divine Healer; GaLorda, Master Atys Harvester and SaBinga Master Atys Crafter.
They studied the exotic enviornment of the Lakelands and with much fear learned that the kitin still roamed with little restraint. To their great surprise they discovered that the land was rich with precious materials. As they traveled they grew tired and in need of rest. The party stumbled across a portal to the land we know of as the Winds of Muse. There they found a small camp of homin-like beings, each wrapped in dark cloaks with masks covering their faces. They didnt know who or what they were. They slowly approached the mysterious camp when suddenly one of the hooded figures hovered directly in their path.
The explorers gripped their weapons and were ready to defend themselves against this mysterious being. The masked figure said, Please lower your weapons we are the Karavan. The ones who will save your people.
The explorers had been told stories of masked people who would come to save them from the kitin. The Karavan gave them a place to sleep and trained them in the arts of warfare, craft, forage and magic. The Karavan taught the weary explorers of Jena, and her plan to deliver Hominity from the vile kitin. They also showed the explorers the paths to Zorai, and told them that a Karavan camp outside the city of Zora would direct them on how to travel to Pyr, in the land of the Burning Desert. The explorers urged the Karavan to visit all the Tryker cities and teach all their people of the Karavan way.
Before they entered the jungle the Karavan officer warned them, Beware the Kami, and do not trust them! Farewell, and good luck young Trykers.
They had not travled far from the Karavan when the expedition decided to make camp for the night. Everyone slept well except for the Elemental Archmage. LeSindo looked protectively at his sister then turned back and while gazing at the star-lit sky thought to himself, I promised that I would watch over you throughout this Journey my dear LeSinta. Jena if you really exist, help me protect my sister.
A tear trickled down his cheek, and LeSindo fell into a deep sleep. As his sister LaSinta lay dreaming at his side, a strange and mysterious woman greeted her. The woman was dressed in a breathtaking gown. A full-body suit that was pearly-white with ocean-blue trim. She walked up to LeSinta and gently ran her hand through LeSintas long purple hair.
She said, Your brother has asked me to help you protect you on this long journey. The woman could tell LeSinta was afraid so she calmly said, I am Jena, Goddess of Atys and Leader of the Karavan. Im here to help you and the others travel to the distant lands of Atys, and show my love for all races. On all of your armor your people shall place their symbol, and wear it with pride. We shall meet again. Until that time, my followers the Karavan, will help you on your journey. Now sleep young Tryker you need your rest, goodbye.
When LeSinta awoke she turned to the sleeping group, and saw that they all had tears on their cheeks. As she arose, she felt a tear crawl down her own cheek. She started for the camp entrance and stumbled over a bag then crashed to the ground causing everyone to wake up in alarm. Before anyone could say a word the tears rolled down their faces onto their necks and miraculously became necklaces. They looked at each in reverent awe, admiring each others necklaces and knew they came from Jena. They were gifts from Jena, to guard and protect the travelers.
They all took a moment of silence to thank Jena for these wonderful gifts. Then SaBinga said, We should go back to sleep. We can rest easy now knowing that Jena is protecting us. Before they fell asleep they all whispered a gracious thanks to Jena.
