A little trouble?!? bwahahaha. Now that's funny. We had fully party death twice and the third time it took 10-15 minutes just to get my poor wife, Leuknoei a distance of less than 75m. She's only level 20, fresh off the island, so all she could do when surrounded by 5 really nasty kitins that wouldn't leave her unconcious body alone, was get healed, run 2m and die. Then, the healer would then run back to the lake and/or die himself. If he died, another healer had to get out of the water and heal him and risk dying. Lather, rinse, repeat.

And that's just from our 2 perspectives. We weren't the only ones in trouble out there, so the few power players we had definitely had their hands full.

Before anyone assumes I'm complaining, I'm not. I'm really impressed that everyone stuck around long enough to get us past that ugliness.

Yes, we probably should have had a larger number of high-level characters. But the ones we had played their hearts out. Thanks to everyone that helped out.

We did finally get to Pyr, but it was 3:30 EST. Sleep? No, we don't need no stinkin' sleep.

marct wrote:Yes, It would be hard to go all the way around. As it stands we ran into a little trouble in Loria. It was unusual in that we really only had 1 team of killers. Usually a trek to this extent will have 2 or 3 of those groups. Starting at 8, we made it to Tryker, and then Matis. I left the group at 1:30 in YRK. I needed sleep. :( The trek from there to Thesos should have only been ~40 mintues more, but then on to Pyr. for another 10-15.

So that is on the order of 6+ hours almost non-stop. Please understand a trek of this distance is not easy.
It does take a while that it does. I've been on Treks from Pyr in Fyros to Matis to Tryker that take a good 4 to 6 hours depending on the size of the group, level of players, season trip is taken in as well as the number and type of mobs one meets oh their journey. I can just imagine a round trip or full circle trip would be quite lengthy especially for some that can't play for that many hour straight. Fun trips though.

Oldmess, now that is funny. I can relate as I'm sure others can being fresh off noob island about a month ago and trying to get to just get to Thesos from Pyr with just one level 177 2h melee/lvl 150 healer. Ahhh, i think my character is permantly scarred from all the deaths and rez'es. Good times.

So I take it the teaching event went well then? That was a great idea. I give you and your guild props Gfunk. I hope you had a good turn out and everyone learned something and had fun.

I must agree that continuing the trip from fyros to the zorai lands would have been a very bad idea. Gfunk had to log by the time we got to thesos without Basic's heavy hitter group. I think my team was the then the only team left on the trip. I did consider giving up and leaving them there to tell the truth. But this little tryker begged me and this zorai girl begged me (which is rather odd because nearly all of the zorai won't even talk to me anymore and are childishly holding some sort of grudge against me over my interactions with the sacred sap). Yes, that zorai girl was... interesting... Anyway, for some strange reason I felt that I must show these homins the stoic resolve of the noble Matis people. I had no doubt that I could keep my team healed but the trip from Thesos to Pyr would require at least one good warrior or mage. Jena was kind that day and we were able to get help from Allthatinny and we made it to Pyr. Everyone was exausted. We had neither the means nor the will to travel any farther. However, the zorai girl did still have the energy to pester me about buying some pants. -.- The entire city of Pyr was already asleep and there was no way I could lead a trip from Pyr to Zora alone even if there was anyone who wanted to go.

[A few out of character notes: "Interactions with the sacred sap" may be more accurately described as the wanton slaughter of countless Zorai which is what made me think the zorai was "interesting" or crazy.]

As RL husband of the tryker that begged you to continue, let me express our appreciation for you and Allthatinny leading us to our final destination. You are absolutely correct that we were all exhausted by the time we reached Pyr.

Gfunk's training classes in Pyr went off fairly well yesterday afternoon. My thanks to everyone that organized the event and helped make it happen. The ongoing generousity of the people in this community continues to impress me.

Aye, it sounds like it was a grand event and fun. That is good to hear.

Oldmess, i agree. This has to be the best gaming community that I have had the pleasure and honor to be a part of.

At that "Zorai girl," I would like to thank Gfunk for starting the trek and you and Allthattinny for getting the rest of us to safely to Pyr.

As far as the "sacred sap" is concerned, what you and your friends do in the privacy of an anarchic zone of conflict is your own business. (If Brother Ray was involved, well he's big enough to take care of himself.)

You do need to know the effect you had on the local dignitaries in Pyr. For weeks the Kami Ambassador kept going on and on about "that pointy eared fella, no pants he wore" and "hot it be, no pants you need." The Kami Master never said a word about the incident, but I could feel his eyes following me across the square. Here I was, new in town and trying to get the locals to trust me. I had to spend half my time fetching kipee morsels and walking around in medium pants just to distract the Ambassador from your pantsless display.

After a few weeks of this, I decided to go back to the quiet of Maiden's Grove for a while. There the men wear pants, the tribes are led by women, and all I need to worry about are the torbak and ragus.

Again, thanks for your help, but BUY SOME PANTS!
