Thanks a bunch Xavier you answered allot of my questions about what is going to happen with this game. If only you had been around during patch 1 to let everyone know what the hell was going on. Maybe so many would not have left.....

That's a pretty big stretch...zukor wrote:Xavier has been posting actively in his short time as "liason" to the gaming community.
post 1 he links to an announcement by nevrax about him. (yes it's the entire post)
post 2. He says hello, talks about not speaking much german, that he used to work with network and server stuff... oh by the way keep talking to Cerest, Farox, Lawrence, and Rewen. Instead of working with Nevrax like they have been doing, they will be working with Xavier who works for Nevrax. Hey your community folks relayed Nevrax a bunch of questions, you will also get reports and articles real soon now!
post 3
Hey by the way, the exact same thing can be found reposted here here here and here
post 4
Patch notes... nevrax fixed the tryker crash bug. This is much different than all those other times we got patch notes posts
post 5... hey the game convention in france was announced a while back, super secret outpost information will be given out there, plus the usual pictures and caps and such that comes with any convention. There is an article coming next week for everyone who doesn't happen to be in that part of france.
post 6. Lots of stuff you already knew. Outposts are still 4-6 weeks away at least, and since a lot of nothing has already been said about them lets not waste time going over a lot of nothing again. Uh... for those who didn't notice, testing sucked and is getting better... nevrax is doing lots of stuff to be better with it.
Yea... he's posting up a storm alright, unfortunately none of it really seems all that different from the occasional posts that we got from cerest and everyone in the past.

Wonder if you guys, jackmor and tetra, ever have played another first year mmorpg that is the first mmorpg release by a company. Nevrax hasn't done a perfect job. I figured that the official release would have some bugs, that it wasn't going to be perfect, but what online game is, so that is why I waited till January to purchase the game.
Sure I'd like more communication and quicker response, but Nevrax has a much smaller team than SoE or Blizzard and most of the other larger mmorpg and gaming companies. I see similar post in the EQ2 and WoW forums and they have much larger companies backing them.
You guys are paying customers and are entitled to your opinions and all, but I don't know, maybe you should have a little more patience. After all, Xavier was just appointed to his position with Nevrax on Feb. 23rd.
Part of playing an mmorpg is that the players of said mmorpg be creative and rp using the given content of the game to play the game around. Yes, their is something to be said that the more content that is added, the more events, the better the gaming experience. All this is coming, but it may not be as quickly as you want to due to Nevrax's small team.

Why yes I have...rrwfreak wrote:Wonder if you guys, jackmor and tetra, ever have played another first year mmorpg that is the first mmorpg release by a company.
I must have missed the part where there was a massive walkout at nevrax and Xavier came in on the 23rd to help pick up the ashes that a staff full of new employees had to learn from scratch. You guys are paying customers and are entitled to your opinions and all, but I don't know, maybe you should have a little more patience. Oh wait, yea it's still Nevrax and there was no walkout... just what seems to be more delays in answering anything we don't already know.

Sooo. Ill be nice. lol

Some of us have been waiting a looong time for promises made before the game hit the market. We have also made some good freinds playing only to lose them to frustration over those very same promises repeatedly being broken.
Its not that we are whiners, that we dont like the game or that we are being impatiant. If this were true we would have left a long time ago.
We are the ones that have stuck it out and are still sticking it out. Making the best of what the game has and having fun. We have spent months waiting and getting ready for the great stuff we were promised. Only to find the obsticles insted of enhancments they have implimented to slow down progress and give them more time to get the game ready.
So please dont say we arnt useing what we have to enjoy the game or that we are being impatiant. It only shows how little you know about this issue.
Re: Outposts
We are of course assuming that the "Outposts" addition will actually be any good. I know many here are waiting with baited breath, but after seeing the "Rites" implementation my hopes arn't exactly flying high - (or maybe i was just expecting something a little more fleshed out - i dunno).
Just can't get the image of just a single Dev working on Ryzom out of my head right now, whilst the rest have moved onto the development of their engine (i know it's wrong, but looking at the patches / actual additions and the quality of the additions... it's just the impression i get).
Someone mentioned the "story" - Anyone here actually believe that Ryzom will be around to see the completion of its 8 (or was it 7?) year story?
Just some of my thoughts (which mean pretty much nothing).

Re: Outposts
Have a look at all the patches and patch notes for EQ2 since it's release. Also, use the Dev tracker tool on it's official forums and have a look at how many staff on the game post. Now compared Ryzom's since release.rrwfreak wrote:Sure I'd like more communication and quicker response, but Nevrax has a much smaller team than SoE or Blizzard and most of the other larger mmorpg and gaming companies. Yes, the teams are much much smaller in comparsion (as you stated), but you can see the work being put into EQ2 just via the communication and the releases of content and patches, and having problems seeing the same in Ryzom (doesn't mean it isn't happening though, just makes it more frustrating).
I fail to see why Xavier is being mentioned here. He's not a developer, he's not a publisher, he simply acts as the middleman between the players and the Devs. All he can do is give information (which is great, but doesn't change the game when you log in to play). It would be nice to see the Devs actively post (there must be one who can speak english).rrwfreak wrote:You guys are paying customers and are entitled to your opinions and all, but I don't know, maybe you should have a little more patience. Re: Outposts
I mentioned the story. It has only a broad stroke connection to the game. But I do believe the game will be around for a long time. It doesnt take much to keep a game going. My main concern is and always has been completion and quality.sankari wrote:We are of course assuming that the "Outposts" addition will actually be any good. Re: Outposts
Hiya jackmor.
I've been following SoR for over a year now. I've only been paying to play SoR for about 7 weeks now, but I did play through all of OB as Rabid, Peregrin, Imafreak, and Fulkari. I thought about buying the game when it was released in September but decided to wait for the first few patches to fix any "major" bugs.
Don't get me wrong, I'm do not disagree that there should be more content added according to what is promised by Neverax and from what I've followed in the forums and since OB closed and went into FB, and there definitely needs to be more frequent events. My biggest problem is lack of events to supplement and add to player/guild sponsered events, more than a contest giving away prizes. Additional content, I'm willing to be more patient with because I don't want it being introduced being really buggy. I can wait for 3 months for outposts, but please don't tell me there won't be any events till then.
Sankari, EQ2 has problems. I've got friends that have left due to those problems, but of course, EQ2 has more players to loose than SoR and SoE's money to back it.
Tetra and Sankari, your telling me you don't want a liason between the devs and the players.
I do know about this issue. It it one that has concerned me back in OB as to whether or not SoR would be ready even when Nevrax pushed back the release date till September. Hence forth why I waited to buy it till January. I'm not saying you guys and gals aren't enjoying the game either or that you are whining. On the contrary. I did say you are entitled to your opinion. I'm just saying that let's see what is posted by Xavier in answer to the questions in the next couple of weeks before totally shooting down Xavier and what he communicates back to us thats all.
