2) You dont seem to understand the concept of my post - it is not PVP areas that i have a problem with it is the way PVP works right now; there is no balance; no fun; no point to PVP. Highest level always wins, unless lower level has affliction >= high level, in which case, if lower level + 20 > high level; lower level wins.

4) I have not seen someone leave the game because of DP, I have, however, seen people leaving because THERE IS NOTHING TO DO BUT LEVEL
5) I like PVP, Raynes likes RP - Raynes is asking for things promised and never delivered, I'm asking for bug fixes and now-broken-pvp-revamp.
6) If you are afraid to be PK'd dont go into roots - you dont like the DP, dont attack mobs and dont harvest - those things explode; choose tasks suitable for YOUR level, dont bite more then you can chew and if you do - dont complain if you get DP.
7) I'm a harvester and if someone nails me in roots or nexus i wont complain - that is what PVP zone is (if it would be up to me - the entire server would be PVP zone with penalties for PK);- I'm also a 200+ mage and if someone nails me in roots I will come back with my Magic Gloves on. If I get DP along the way - oh well , it was my choice to come back to begin with - if I would not want to risk it; I'd stay in town.

8) As for Concentual PVP only - i'm fine with that as well - give me the Declare war option in a guild, give me alliance option in a guild, paint my enemies on a radar red and give me somewhat blanaced and interesting fight during PVP (which now is boring and predictable as hell) And I will shut up and go play with people that apprieciate the same.

I can only wonder if you have played any other game that involved PVP in it...

2. ok quite correct I did move a little off topic, but also said the game mechanics should nto be changed to suit PvP, oh and of course high beats low? and as for affliction this adds a minor amount of tatics
3. Fair comment, not eveyone goes for the same thing so trying to make everyone happy is hard
4. yep right again, but I dont think the something more to do should involve an increase in PvP but rather more conent with regards to missions etc and more involvement in forwarding the story of atys
5. bug fixes good, RP jury's out for me (but I can accept people want to do it) PvP I will admit is quite silly in this game, goes on forever (unless killing unarmoured harv's) and no gain from it. add gain to it but dont expect everyone to want to participate.
6. I like to explore, I do it to break from the grind for a while, I however would not appreciate getting PK'd when I'm 10m from getting that tp I'd just got max DP for, not right for me to be excluded from an area due to 3% of the players on the server.
7. nice to have that lvl 200 nuke aint it, not everyone has got that to "come back and kick ass"

I started this thread to have anything but arguments; in the end of the day, I dont need arguments, I need a functional game :)

won't happen in the short to medium term, if ever. the best we'll get by using the usual channels is what cerest just started, tho i have bad experiences with that, as it horribly failed when the same thing was started in the german forums in october last year.

I agree that enchantments can make or break a 1-on-1 PvP. This may need to be adjusted. However outside of 1v1, PvP is wide open. I think due to the mechanics and story line and the way PvP has been implemented with no driver to do it, or no downfall to doing it that there has not been much reason to engage. Tactics, and ambushes, and snipers are well on the way, however How would I ever get in a situation that I need to PvP another group for something at the moment? Maybe the Goo Heads could ask me to wipe out those "vile Kami" that came and wiped thier tribe. However if I encounter them in a non-PvP area, how do I fulfill such a request. I could spend in-gmae days huniting and tracking them for my reward, to not ever have the ability to attck them without notice.

That is my problem with PvP... I hope this helps.

Yeh, that was sweet... similarly but not quite as fast, you can hold the right mouse button down and perform your 180 with the mouse...

I use that for turning and looking around most of the time. Use the LMB to look around while running straight.

I can pretty much turn on a dime... much to the chagrin of people who follow me through aggro areas... LOL

I was just gonna say that... many times I have seen a kincher appear out of a herd of kipee in the roots; I use the RMB to turn, only to do it too quickly and end up going 360deg , then running into the kincher's claws :'(

solution: use hardware mouse and tweak your head movement settings in the config under inputs. when you reduce the acceleration and set the speed to a comfortable value these things should happen less(note: the slider positioning may be misleading and sliding it to the right might actually reduce acc. instead of increasing, my memory on that detail ain't too clear)

I use harware mouse pointer; UO was a 2d environment which, however you slice it, was faster then a 3d. It is not only the turning speed, it is the fact things need to load, render, your point of view needs to be adjusted etc..

When tweaked it gets pretty fast, but not as fast...

Before someone says something - my hardware is more then adequate.
