What is the point of mounts ?

From the description of chapter 2 on official page:

Rumor has it that less bulky food could soon be available on the market, and that some homins have already gone in search for faster mounts...

So I assume harvested food will be implemented eventually.

My persuit to find faster mounts was in vain though, I couldn't find the action to tame one =P

Maybe both are Ency rewards that haven't been found yet. Who knows.

Mounts+Water = waste of time really.
Mounts+Land = great way to travel.

10k pah, if you are worried about 10k in this game you are doing something very very wrong.

Mounts are great help when doing missions, the have a fun factor.

If the inv was slightly larger they would be much more useful... I can't fit all my hunting/foraging gear on him..... but hey... I have 3 other packers.

Escaping aggro ... you can now out run 90% of the mobs.

They are the first step to the next new thing...... Jousting mabe!!!!

2 weeks ago we couldn't ride, now we can!
in 2 months time, whos knows what will happen!

If the add something you don't want then don't use it...... I for one know many who think they are fun and worth every dapper.

Hehe barding for mounts that would rock. eaven more hp and chanse to escape mobs

Leveling the mout with kicking, biting. All in all making it a pet. (like capryni)

Letting it attack and stuffs.

The higher level yor mount is the more it consumes food.

And the beauty of this game this is all very possible.......

They can add trees and skills

I did see once or twice the word Demon appear of the list of animals...
(bug or future add .... who knows)

We have only just got mounts .... and already there are loads of ideas for the future ... Go Nervex Go ..... feels for the patch 1 casualties ... hope they come back and see how much the game has changed ... for the better!

u cant summon it at will,
if it dies no rez,
cant teleport it with you,
cant fight off it,
eats through your cash 10k at a time,
looks damn ugly...

I don't understand. They add more content "why did they bother". Don't add more content? "why haven't they added more content?"

You walk on a mekky, it moves at homin run speed.
You run on a mekky and it's a damned fast way to get about.

Regardless of all other plus or minus points, these are additions to the game that most people welcome. Seems like thats the reason they bothered.

I freaking want a MEKKY!! Cos evry time i see Catfud showing off his mount i feal like a Tryker. On the other hand its a pitty i cant afford it right now. Well i can but i'm a bit gready and have some ppl to take care of

the one thing that really annoys me about the mounts are the way people get a group of agro following them, and then fun past a player on foot, whom they can see you their radar, if they bothered to check it, and often that player on foot then dies as they can't take on the number of agros on the mounts tail. i mean, ok it takes a while to mount and dismount, but thats no reason to drop you're agro on someone else to stop them hitting you. also once they've stopped chasing you, you could have the curtosy of going back and helping the person whom has jsut taken on all your agro. but often people just continue on their way, no reguard for the poor person fighting your agro mob. i have died numberous times because someone has run past me with 4 or more agro on their tail, and quite frankly i'm sick of it. i have to avoid roads now incase someone is on a mount being chased by agro.

This game has a lot of potential, and due to its loose system, pleanty of room for extras.

Just look at the website you'll see "5th race: not yet announced" and "5th mainland: not yet announced". I just the other day set my subscription up through till April 1st 2006, and I do intend to keep up ryzom that long
