just a graphic image stamped on each piece of equipment somewhere, like a trademark

we can already see the guild insignia next to the guild name above the characters heads, i don't see this as being to far of a stretch graphically
The biggest problem there is size. When u scale down the clan logo down it loses its look and becomes unclear. To make it small enough to 'stamp' the crafted items would make the logo completely undistiguishable as far as i know.

Also, about the obscenities, it is impossible to put a sensor on that will completely work. Ppl cn spll teh wrds out compltely or not and ull stll understnd it, but the sensor will not. Sensors can only catch what is put into it (the fully spelt words) not every form of writing it. Through in a space or a character to break it up some and how would it be able to tell?

Reading this thread I saw two reason people wanted to have this implamented. 1) the ability to record what mats were used to craft the item for future reference 2) the ability to mark the item as yours in a more 'personal'? way then it just having your name.
To solve #1 add the ability to have the mats titles inscribed in a new section for a price or something, more focus consumed or whatever. for number 2 allow ppl to make a little drawing (16x16 px?) that can be put into the description. It would be like the guild symbol, cept it would be your person (or guild if u wanted to ;) )

Just my thoughts on the matter :)

Players are your obscenity filter, they can report it, whoever did it is tracked by having their name on it, they get banned. Simple and very effective.

Recipes on items might not be a good idea for some who want to keep recipes secret. Of course as it stands there are no secrets as the worth of all items is simply the quality of its components. There are no 'special combination' effects that might result in secret recipes... well none that I know of.

Extra graphics are always hard to do. You can't add new graphics within the game without having an effect on how your pc handles it. Not sure how SOR works, but in the old days of EQ they were severely limited by the number of graphic pictures they could have in the game. Assuming these days the number is a lot larger you are still asking them to create "No of players x No of item graphics" more graphics, and that doesnt sound likely. So they would need to do it as an overlay over your existing graphics... which might impact performance of the game... its not as simple as you think. I would like to know the details however if anyone has a better understanding of it...

The problem with this is a) the game will someday become a lot bigger and that means more you are asking of b) new members for example could see it and would not know who to contact 'if' anyone. I know I wouldnt have.
