item inscription idea for discussion

what do you think about having an area at the bottom of the item description panel that text can be typed in, for inscribing items ?

Good idea, I would like to be able to do this with my crafted items. It would be a great way to begin personalization of equipment. Plus it would help if the person came back to you to request another set. The inscription would help you catalogue what mats you used to make it so you could get the same stats and look as before.

One problem: It would be hard to track obscenities on these inscriptions.

i wonder if they could put a filter on it so they could have a list of blocked words?

Lariva,

While we agree with you that bugs should be fixed first. That should not preclude discussions about other things we would like to see in the game. If you feel this would not be a good idea or would like to add something relating to this topic please do so.

I had not thougth of the obscenities problem but you are correct. A way to prevent that kind of thing should be put into place if this were ever to be implimented.

I would just like some way to put a more personal stamp on items you craft.

we all know the bugs should be fixed but that doesnt mean we should stop with the novel ideas. Personaly I can see how it could be a problem with people writing inapropriate things in it. I would like however to say put a guild stamp on it. Somthing that has our insignia and name that would be cool to have.

Since you can't target a weapon and looks at it info while somebody is weilding it. The only time I can see obscenities being a problem would be on a npc vendor or doing a trade with a player for an item.

a thought along these lines, armor and weapons that are visible could have a 'stamp' on them of the guild you belong to as the crafter

just a graphic image stamped on each piece of equipment somewhere, like a trademark

we can already see the guild insignia next to the guild name above the characters heads, i don't see this as being to far of a stretch graphically
