Anyone interested on how to stop the goo!!!!!!!!

I'm still awaiting an answer from some pro-Karavan person regarding my previous post.

And as it looks, Raynes posts about half a dozen really credible points that no one has been able to dispute.

Oh, I see now. The Kami and its followers prove time and time again that we keep true to our word, and are as interested as anyone else in the preservation of this planet. Nothing the Kami have done has, in any concievable way, hinted towards deception or foul play...

Yet the Karavan wear masks, refuse to show themselves, and instruct their followers to rape the planet of all its resources. They don't explain their origin (simply 'sent by Jena' does not fly, anyone can say that, so I don't know why the Karavan are taken anymore seriously than a random person that claims to be sent by Jena), and their technology is not only unexplained, but unattainable by anyone OTHER than the Karavan. All of this on top of the fact that they promote the careless neglegence of the Goo.

The odds are clearly stacked against the Karavan when trying to figure out who ultimately has vicious, evil plans in store for the future of this planet.

Raynes, go to Pyr, talk to the Kami welcomer, the corporal and the city welcomer, I have gotten the "rid the land of goo" missions from one of the three of them on more than one occassion. But yes, it is the modified sap they are looking for not the purple stuff.

There is also the rid the land of goo infected mobs missions in pyr, which is STUPID, since they tell you to rid Fyrosian lands of something that is already NOT there. (They direct you to kill a Gooified mob in the region you are currently in, I have traveled rather extensively in Fyrosian lands, not to every corner, but I have NOT found a mob goo ed that a player that was of a level to get this mission could actually even HARM...much less kill).

I'm a Zorai so I have seen the goo. I have never found a place to actually dig it up though. As for NPC's, I've talked to the welcomers, the patrollers, the sargents, the Kami welcomers, hunters. The only missions they give out are to rid the land of goo infected animals from what I have seen.

The Zorai wear masks too. I think the Karvan masks are along the lines of a rebreather. I don't think that they can breath Atysian air without dying. That...OR they may be US, and they might know if they took off those masks, we would not even think about honoring them, and they know we would demand full revelation of space travel technology.

You can't relate parent child relationships with beings of relatively the SAME age, that is insulting. And insults are MORE than grounds enough to justify hostility towards those that talk down to a people.

Trust worthy people are open and honest. They do NOT hide the truth, they do NOT withhold information.

I am a parent of a 12 YO girl, and a 5 yo boy. I don't treat them as if they are fragile and going to collapse at anything I say. I lived a sheltered life as a child and think it was CRUEL of my mother to do that. In protecting me from things that were less than rosey and fluffy bunnies and care bears, she stunted growth that took me YEARS to do on my own. When I moved out, I didn't know how to ballance a check book, had NO idea about the cost of food, electricity, gasoline I had only a SMALL idea of the cost of. It was a HORRID system shock.

I will NOT do this to my children. I let them KNOW what things cost, my daughter helps with the calculator and has helped me find better bargains.

To "protect" you children from everything (including learning to pick up after themselves and consequences of their behavior) is abusive in my opinion.

I would rather be given the truth and the room to make my own mistakes. I don't recall us in game being children, even Trykers are GROWN UP, even if they DO look like pre teens to early teens. And being treated by the two super powers as STUPID kids or worse, as evolutionary lessers angers me.

I don't think either Kami OR Karavan is very respectful OR helpful. Oh wow THANKS for selling me highly over priced tickets *rolls eyes* Umm mr kami, I am a loyal fan, how about better magic so I can actually affect the goo? No? didn't think so *sigh*

Sometime in every succesful homin's life, they have been corected by thier parents. It is part of a natural learning procces. Does the fact that a parent has punished a child make the parent untrustworthy or evil? Obviously not, even the suggestion is obsured.

Similarly, in the life of every successful homin, there has been a time when they were not given exactly what they wanted, right when they wanted it. Does this action, not to spoil a child, or give the child an object that could do them harm, mean the parent does not care for the good of the child?

We could ask, by your reasoning, why do the Kami not teach thier dark sorcery to all homins. Why do they limit it only to their benighted followers?

You paint a picture of slave camps where brave homin are forced to do nothing more than labor for the good of Karavan overlords. I challenge you to show me even once such incident of these camps. The Karavan obviously have access to resource greater than our own. They ask that we tend to the lands surrounding the cities, clearing them of filth and debris. Enabling the land to be put to productive use.

The Karavan will lead the effort to remove the goo from Atys, just as soon as the producers of the goo are removed.

I would like to see the only way to stop the GOO is by foraging! It would make an excellent EVENT imo and also put foraging for another use other than for grinding mats for craft...

If the rebreather is the case... why would Jena create/send protectors of the planet and its people that can't properly breathe the very air they're trying to protect? That makes no sense whatsoever.

If they were us... wow! Are you saying that they'd have to earn our respect if they didn't have masks? They still have to earn my respect, regardless of some petty mask. And you're damn right we'd demand the rights to their technology. Regardless of who/what they are, they should feel more than obligated to share their uncanny wealth of knowledge and technology with us. That is, unless, they keep their secrets for the sole purpose of having the upper hand on this planet's inhabitants if needbe.

Let's face it. Their explanation for being here is thin. Their motives are cloudy at best. Their interests are purely materialistic. Nothing they have done in the subsequent 4 months has shown otherwise.

And the Kami have stuck to their nature-loving guns.

I was never in favor of denouncing anyone's following here, but the idea that the Kami are the cause of this Goo is downright baseless, but most importantly, just plain stupid. The Karavan have come out and said that they don't care about the Goo whatsoever, and they never even said they suspect the Kami as creators of the Goo. The Kami implore their followers to destroy the Goo, as it is slowly devouring the Zorai jungles.

C'mon now. I mean, believe what you want, and opt to dislike your following's opposition all you like, but keep the verbal attacks to at least something actually credible.

Yes this would bring a new exciting twist to foraging and would help stop the mindless Dig, Grind, Dig, Gring, Dig, Grind. Maybe that is what we will have to do as well as kill the master of the goo that the event talked about.
