Re: My newbie findings of Ryzom
sorry - I expect a lot more. Who are they? Why are they there? Why do they not roleplay - is this a roleplaying game or not? and if it is why do they not encourage others to roleplay? How do their characters fit into the world - they are obviously characters of long standing (hence why they are so ...

Re: My newbie findings of Ryzom
ok so it looks like they are holding some good events just not necessarily making sure that they are spread evenly across the playerbase/realms. One thing that does grate is the role of guides - they play this weird not-quite IC but not really OOC role that doesn't really gel with me. I don't know ...

Re: My newbie findings of Ryzom
in my opinion they do a terrible job of event management - on the grounds that I've been playing since release and the only events I've had chance to be involved with were 1 sightseeing tour (at the point when I'd already visited every square inch of my realm) or a newbie hunt (in newbie island) at ...

Current game state (moved from other thread)
Just wanted to respond to borg9/Neun's points but didn't want to carry on in the other thread which has a title relating to another company's offering. If anyone else wants to join in, feel free but I don't want to initiate a huge flame war. Just looking for serious discussion around some of the ...

Re: WoW vs Ryzom (my point of view)
But they seem to want to destroy it? thats what puzzles me. If I eat something I don't like, I tend to say 'I don't like that', then I don't eat it again. If asked I would say I don't like it, but I wouldn't feel obligated to stop everyone in the street and say 'I don't like pickled eggs!' I wouldn ...

Re: If you have not played EQ2 yet..
I had no problems with EQ2 at the weekend. Its a different game and one I personally happen to enjoy as much as Ryzom. >> People will get bored after a month or 2. Its nothing completely new anymore, just a remake of other games with different graphics, a slightly different skill set, different mobs ...

Re: Sorry, had to post this :-)
I'm playing both and they both have their problems and plus points. Ryzom crashes for me, FAR more often than EQ2 for example. Ryzom has a nicer gfx engine tho - EQ2 is not as pretty. But EQ2 does have a lot more detail and the feel of a game with stuff to do, rather than a world where you can do ...

Re: The various Tryker areas and their levels...
Winds of Muse is supposedly easier than Resting Water?
when you say the current aggro levels don't match, do you mean that the lvls don't match up at all at the moment or that there are more aggro monsters of varying lvls in the wrong areas at the moment?

Re: Personal Character Interaction
hmmm my take on this is that its the difference between playing a roleplaying game and playing a standard computer game. RPG's aren't generally intended to allow you to max the system and essentially play one character with 5 avatars, getting the best of each world. Which is kind of what you're ...
