This would probably work. Personally I would just like to see magic be equally as effective as melee is. Melee attacks have a much wider range that they can affect up to, and frankly they are not at all any weaker than most mage attacks. Most melee fighters lower level than me do more damage than ...

After playing with the post-patch magic system for a few days, I find that it works decently for small groups (2-3 players), is ok for soloing (or would be if my elemental and def afflliction would be near the same level), and is unworkable for large groups (7+ players) except for healing. Creatures are definitely resisting spells a lot more often now - being restricted to casting the lv 100 elemental spells because of the magic amp availability, we found casting on level ~170 kippee would resist cold spells about 70% of the time (resist as in no damage message, not lowered damage). Yes, foragers couldn't keep up pre-patch. But why nerf the foragers out of the picture more? why not make them better able to supply crafters rather than making them unnecessary? a rough guide is the max ql of the harvest nodes gives the upper level limit of the zone, lower level limit is 50 below that (so 150 for umbra, 50 for Maiden's Grove, etc). Of course general rules always have exceptions.raynes wrote:Ok, next question... What zones are what level?

secondly, how do I combine spell effects. I assumed that it would be possible if you had two of the same spell type (ie, two celestial affliction spells) so I bought stun to go with my fear (see above for another reason why I think that was a waste) but I can't seem to work out how to combine them ...
