Hello, I am wondering if there is something on par of say over a gig of download patched that have to be downloaded to play SoR? I have a high speed broadband connection Downloading at 88.8k/sec. I am just confused as the pop up for patching says it may take a few minutes depending on your connection. Any advice on this, or is it the way it is going to be downloading from SoR?

Something dont sound right, I am curious as to whether you are in the game showing ###/### or patching from outside in a dos box ?

When I installed on my wife system she had an oddball dos box that looped, I am wondering if that is whats happening there. All I did for her was run "ryzom_recover.exe" from the ryzom folder and the proper upgrading started fairly soon after the initial "dos" window files.

Hello VG, thanks for the response.. I am downloading in a freak little white box that looks exactly like a DoS box.. where is the Recover Ryzom file at within the directory?

Ryzom_recover is right in the main directory you installed the Saga of Ryzom in.

Usually this is: C:/program files/Ryzom

Hello, I am still using the DoS looking window for patching. I am now at over 4 hours of downloading. I held the curso over the folder which contains the files for SoR it is now 4.9gigs of space. I am fairly positive that the two disks I installed did not install over half that so I am downloading a HUGE amount of something. I also found the Recover file and it is using the same DoS window and after about every 20 mins or so it Times out I have restarted the Ryzom.exe something like 30 times . I am thinking I got a bad install.

The "time out" you mentioned concerns me...

Assuming you have been getting some files before the "burp" have you tried to execute the game to see if it will self patch itself from there.

Just a quick question that may be effecting you: Are you leaving your virus scanner/firewalls set at HIGH levels while doing this?

Some players have found that to be a problem.

Aye, I have executed the game from the link on my desktop. It still comes up with the DoS looking window and seems to be or at least size wise downloading the same exact 5218k sized file everytime I start it up. I thinking I am need to unistall it and start from scratch again. as for what the last post says from the fella that plays SWG I have not a clue as to what you are saying. lol Sorry my pc savy stops past say....oh defragging my PC
