is there more to life than grinding

I'm pretty new to the game (alright I'm a noob) and have been slowly grinding the lvls but its slowly becoming boring doing only that. I know there are small missions you can do in all fields but what I want to know is where do I find the larger scale missions. I want to do a few proper missions, you know the type......."go to x and kill x named mob and you will recieve x (insert worthy loot)"

I dont wan't to be just killing dune stalkers, pagans, eye of dragon, 5 kippe, 2 grigos, 1 gaori etc

and I know you can go kick off with named mobs any time you want but wheres the background, killing goaketh/bingle etc for the 50th time is no fun if its not for a reason.

To answer your question about the big quests. Wait a week (maybe 2) longer and with the next patch you will get them.

As for only grinding. The game is what you make out of it. If grinding is not your piece of cake just fool around with your guild mates / have fun and don't care about the lvls.
