Cool selection screen animations...

Hello..

I just noticed something that, as far as I know, is new since I took a break from Ryzom..

In the character selection screen, my Fyrar character is going through a very cool series of animations.. Starting off with a sort of "You.. come here" type thing with her hand, she briefly turns away then lunges out as if swinging at someone, then goes into a fighting stance. She then goes into a series of other animations, including full mouth movement, as though she's talking, etc.

It's really quite cool and I haven't seen anything like that in game yet.

Oddly, my Matis and Tryker characters aren't doing anything similar in the Character Select screen.. Is this something isolated only to the Fyrar for some reason?

I noticed it too with my Fyros, but I thought it was due to the fact that she was UNarmed at the moment and all my alts were armed. But...I could be wrong. I will try unarming everyone and then log off and back on and see if THEY animate.

Thanks for pointing this out, SOME might think it was trivial, but I think it is facinating.

you should try it with a zorai, the magic animations are quite amazing... especialy as my zorai know nothing of magic ^_^

Ya.. I figured out it happens if you aren't armed when you log off/on.

Matis go through a sort of "are you talking to me... away with you!" sorta thing.. Seems a little snobbish.. but very cool. Nicely animated.

I don't remember exactly what, but I know after a recent patch Ael did something new I thought was really really cute :)

That used to be the Zorai animation. It would point at the player, make a hand motion like he was cutting his throat, then laugh. This would be followed by the character looking back, waving forward as if to say "move forward". Now they changed it so the Zorai move to produce a giant magic ball.

My Matis female character does a lot of animations at the beginning too. You have to have empty hands in order to see them though.

I was watching a friend's Zorai and what got me was that the eyes widened and closed and the mouth would move - that the mask was not static. The electrical show and the levitation was pretty cool too. I'm not too sure the Tryker pulling gaseous balls from behind his back is a cool thing tho'.
