PvP-Feature-Wishlist

Post by atyra »

One member of the community started this topic and some players made some useful suggestions.
I will post them here, so maybe you, David, or someone of the devs can use them for new inspirations :)

note, none of these feature should make it possible to create groups bigger than 9 that share experience, they are only meant to combine teams in a bigger raid to allow proper organizing

1-ability to combine teams into raids, so that you can see every team window and can select every member from your and other teams. it should also change the name's colour of all the people in your raid so you can see easily when looking at the battle or the radar who is your friend, and who isn't. lastly the raid needs an own chat channel
-- reasons: there is absolutely no time to chat when fighting;
when doing FvF fights it can get VERY confusing with a bunch of different looking homins on the screen, who are not from your guild, not in your team, and have no sign if they are friend or foe;
healers are also needed in other teams of their faction and sometimes one team can be on the brink of destruction, while the team with free healers is perfectly fine, also marking targets by looking at your surroundings is nigh-impossible in battle, for abovementioned reasons

2- the ability to designate raid leaders, they should get a different marker ingame and should have a different colour in chat
--reasons: always typing /shout is very tedious, and when not shouting either commands get missed easily when you are dealing with more than 9 people, i know there are region and around, but that would allow enemies to drop in

------------------------------------
now follow some miscellaneous odds and ends that are only connected with PvP in general

3- the ability to change the position of players in your team window
--reasons: due to low framerates(i haven't once managed to get the usual prerequisite 60 fps since i was playing in the beta) and the mouse lag that causes, selecting people from the team window is slow and unwieldy, being able to reduce the distances between the people who actually need to be healed in that window would lessen that problem a good bit

4- targeted homins should not become untargeted when they die or are ressurrected
--reasons: this makes it impossible to heal in a quick and effective way(see above)

5- the ability to set any homin or mob as compass target via rightclick menu
--reasons: some weapons and spells have a maximum range, and at the moment the only possible way to use them once a target has entered that distance is to spam that spell or attack(which makes your character move towards the target, which is clearly undesirable). the possibility to access this via the rightclick menu is necessary since the current implementation is very non-intuitive(i didn't even know about it until 5 minutes ago) and for the reasons listed in number 3 very uncomfortable and slow

6- the team window should show the distance from you to any of the team mates listed there
--reasons: they often move out of the range of their healers, and lately i have been getting lots of "target out of range" when trying to heal one of my team mates, the consequence was that i had to compass target them and move nearer

7- the ability to set Shout as the default channel
--reasons: shout has evolved to be the command channel, and is extensively used, if the above raid and leader suggestions cannot be fulfilled it would at least make a semi-acceptable substitute

8- jewels and light armor need some kind of level limit, like weapons, amps, medium and heavy armour have
--reasons: gross unbalancing is possible atm, my main on the live server is lvl 50 in melee and max lvl is 60 in harvest, and i am currently wearing a full jewel set of ql 110 with the corresponding boosts; theoretically it would be possible to equip a lvl 1 player with a full q250 set , which would result in a 1250 HP boost

10- My biggest wish for patch 2 is to not declare the whole roots as pvp zone.
If you have a choice when you enter if you like to be part of pvp or not, its something different. But simply declaring "one third of the world is now pvp zone. Surprisingly its also the most important, mysterious and Story building Zone of the whole game" doesn't work.
This will bring you much more disappointed and angry users than the rebalancing of patch 1.
If you really have to declare a pvp zone, create a new one, or use the pvp isles. If this doesnt work, chose 1(!) zone, like the nexus or lands of umbra, but not the whole roots.

11- The possibility to completely switch PvP participation off or on, abuse can be prevented with a change delay of a week or a permanent result of the decision.
