what to do after connection

Post by waves »

After I connect to Ryzom, I get a screen with a large question mark and partial views of some boxes surrounded by flowers, I have no idea what to do. Any help is appreciated.

Click on one of the question marks then select "Create New" at the bottom right hand of the screen. This allows you to create an in-game Character.

There is no "Create New" button in my view, I think I am only seeing part of the screen, as I only see part of the boxes.

Are you running Ryzom in Window mode or full screen mode? I would suggest running the Ryzom Configuration to make sure the resolution and window position is set correctly.

You can do this by going to: Start -> Programs -> Ryzom -> Configure Ryzom.

Once the configuration screens comes up click on "Display". From here you can change the resolution at which the game runs at. If you're running it in window mode, you need to set the resolution smaller than what you're desktop resolution is or at least the same size.

You can find your desktop resolution by going to: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display. Then click the "Settings" tab. At the bottom you will see your resolution.

If you are running Ryzom in window mode, make sure the "Position" is set to 0 and 0 for the X and Y.

I changed ryzom from full screen to window mode, made sure that X and Y were 0 (and they were) and changed the resolution to 800 by 600, my resolution, and still no change. Anything else that may be controlling this?

Honestly, that should of fixed it ( :

I don't know what else you could try. I would try setting it back to full screen 800x600 or even try a lower resolution just to see if that works.

Ryzom requires that you run your desktop at at least 1024x768, your 800x600 resolution is the cause of your problem.
