There is something I have been unclear about... It's the process of buing tickets from Kami individuals. I have a Kami faction of 88 or 89, yet it seems that a high majority of the Kami characters I meet do no sell tickets. There are several in the smaller tribe camps that don't seem to sell them. There are a lot of totem poles that do not allow you to get a respawn point. In fact there is one entire tribe of Kami and Kami adapts that don't say or do anything at all. So what exactly is the criteria for being able to buy a ticket somewhere? What does there have to be?
Re: EXPLORE YOUR WORLD! The easy way.
you buy the tickets from the spinning, floating kami altars, not from the little guys themselves

Just to clarify, if anyone wants to max their DP to do exploring and stuff for a while, it caps at exactly 10 deaths worth 8)
Re: EXPLORE YOUR WORLD! The easy way.
And the formula for DP exp is:
EXP from action * (skill level / 10) = DP EXP
So you're best off using your highest skill to get it back. If it's not possible, or your highest skill gets EXP slowly, you can of course get it back with other skills. This is just for everyone's knowledge :P

Re: EXPLORE YOUR WORLD! The easy way.
i allways found it kinda strange that Dp was based off whatever your highest level is rather than the level of th skills you were using when you were killed.
so if someone has gotten massive levels (150-250) via crafting for his guild but as far as combat goes he/she is around level 30 -50 and dies in a fight then he/she/it would have to go craft to work of the massive DP from one death just to be able to gain exp during future fights.
maybe i am being too picky but i hate having to go and harvest (in my case) on a day when i wanted to fight. not to mention, if i do try to work off the Dp by fighting i take a big risk of dieing again and doubling my Dp debt.

It may be rather strange, however, it would also be near impossible to work this out. How would you base it? Your last action before death? Your actions within the last five minutes, given weight by the number of them you used?overide1 wrote:i allways found it kinda strange that Dp was based off whatever your highest level is rather than the level of th skills you were using when you were killed.
It's not something that would be easy in the least, and would, at a minimum require a lot more computational 'overhead' than the current system. Plus, depending on the skill levels you have, they should be punished a bit if you die doing something else. Imagine a level 150 Melee specialst who decided they needed to work on their level 21 ranged fight. While they are only level 21, they can wear the armor of a level 150, have the hit points and stanzas of a 150, and so on. Same holds true for those who go to anything.
The ones the system currently 'hurts' the most are those who are primarily crafters or harvesters. Harvesters, however, are, or can, can xp with very little risk to themselves, as long as they arn't pushing the harmful actions, and are keeping an eye on their sources. Crafters are entirely risk free, they simply need mats.
So, in short, the system for DP is balanced about as best as it reasonably can be. Just be thankfull there *is* a cap on it.

agreed at least the safest dp reduction CRAFTING is Safe all you need is Drops
Evil Developer " HMMM I think we need to add Crafting Explosions So that when there is a Crafting Failure the Seams bust and it kills the craft with flying Debris"
Player "NOOO how can i die all i did was try and make a pair os lvl 110 boots foe a guild Mate now I can even work off Dp tis way!!"
